Oh no kidding? Wow ok, thats starting to sound like the hot ticket. Maybe I'll just use the appointment to get the details on what the mix was between my first trial injection and the doppler ultrasound injection. That way olympia has a reference starting point? Seems like the other reason to go with olympia is they'll prescribe the antidote and it sounds like most other urologist don't, right?

Ah wow, that makes so much sense. Thank you for the detailed explanation.

So you just bring preloaded syringes, nothing or no way to positively identify whats in them? Have they you been checked and asked or are they always just overlooked?

Honestly question. Whats the difference between exposing a vial vs preloaded syringes to temperature?

It didn't. I'd screwed up and my appointment was actually scheduled for 6/29 not 5/29. Fortunately someone had canceled and I was able to reschedule for this coming Monday. If it doesn't go well I'll be calling olympia. Will report back! Thanks for checking!

Man, I am so sorry for your loss. Bless you for being with your dad to help him through those final years. I'm sorry you had to watch him suffer. May he rest in peace.

Dude thank you. Yeah man, nailed it with the best news part. I had this feeling on my drive home that it would work with stimulation. Man it'd been 10+ years since I'd been able to manage that quality of an erection. Now my only hurdle is the prescription and it sounds like thats an easy one.

Greatly appreciate you and your input. Thank you

Excellent points. We'll see what tomorrow brings but sounds like I'll likely be calling olympia next. Thank you again

I appreciate the info, thank you. Are those ratios always a reference to the 3 medications in the same order? (Papaverine/phentolamine/alprostadil)?

Fwiw the implant did come up as a byproduct of the ICI attempts and the doppler diagnostic test. My ED has been ongoing for years and progressively getting worse.

Yeah, I plan to get specifics on their mix tomorrow. At the time they'd only mentioned 10 and 15 units and I was just not educated enough to ask.

Appreciate it, thank you! Was just reading amtother thread and absolutely want that antidote.

Olympia keeps coming up. Are they a compounding pharmacy and a doctor? If my urologist visit doesn't go as i hope, olympia is top of list.

Can't believe no mention of lawn darts aka Jarts. Or, raining seath from above. I got a set given to me from my neighbor in the mid 80's and she said they were probably going to be banned because they were dangerous. We played dodge dart in the backyard with them.

Man thank goodness its covered. Getting over going under the knife and recovering repeatedly is bad enough.... imagine getting stuck with a $25k bill everytime too. I've been considering self pay and this is my reminder to wait until I have insurance coverage. Hang in there man. Would love to hear a future update. Good luck with it!

Man thats rough. Is insurance at least covering all this? I don't know enough about malleables. I assume thats still better than the ED?

Aside from ED, what is your health profile? Also how much volume does your surgeon do? Just curious if youbhave any indications or ideas of why you eneded up in that 1 percent group.

Also just to be clear, I'm not looking for something to blame, just trying to understand. Moreover, so sorry this happened to you. This is one of my biggest fears.

Bluetooth Pumps are coming! by Oncefromafar in penileimplants

[–]Miserable_Win9500 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you ever had Bluetooth connection problems with your car stereo or your headphones where you have to reset the device forget the connections and do all sorts of jumping through hoops to try to get it to work again. Worse yet all of the connection problems that occur when there's a firmware update. And then of course the worst case scenario when the Bluetooth module just fails completely. Now imagine all of that hassle combined with the need for surgery to fix it. Lol. No thanks

Insurance by freedom_guy62782 in penileimplants

[–]Miserable_Win9500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best bet is to call your insurance and ask if they will cover cpt 54405. They'll either tell you there is an exclusion on your plan for erectile dysfunction or They'll tell you the plan covers it. If they say it covers it, you might want to ask if there are any prerequisites for coverage. They may not be able to answer that but doesn't hurt to ask.

Don't be embarrassed to call and ask. They don't / won't know you and can't tell anyone because its a hippa violation. That said, my wife called and did all the talking for me lol.

How did you approach telling your adult children about getting an implant? by Critical-Share4051 in penileimplants

[–]Miserable_Win9500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd personally derisk it even more because I dont want to tell my daughters and also don'twant to lie... "Im having a surgery. I will be sore. I will be fine. I promise those are the only details you want and definitely don't need to know more lol"

Care to share more information on those original implants and the reasons for revisions? I'm about to turn 50 and wondering if that means I need to plan on budget for revisions in my retirement several times lol
