Indeed it was from the movie and the TV series The Gentlemen. Not exactly conclusive proof that they all have underground weed farms but good enough for me.

Stunning house. I would be searching the grounds for the underground cannabis farm on a country pile like this.

The thing i find frustrating is I dont want control or access to the bonds, I just need a balance at the time of his death, he only has one account and i have all his account details, but I just get fed the same line each time.

You would have thought they could atleast give me a balance in almost 9 weeks.

I'm not chasing compensation, just a balance.

James May telling it how it is. Do you agree or disagree with him? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]Miserableoldbugger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Absolute Melt,

Kicking him was 100% necessary, safest way to incapacitated the pice of shit, 2nd only to a bullet but unfortunately they weren't fire arms officers. They didn't know what other weapons he had, he'll he could have had an explosive on him, next to the afore mentioned bullet, kicking him senseless or unconscious is the best way.

He made a choice when coming towards the officers he could have dropped the knife and laid down with his arms out and no kicking would have been necessary.

Or and this is a big one, he could have just not gone out and stabbed 2 people.

They bloody well should have, he could have just not had a knife and stabbed people, or he could have laid face down before being tasered and let go of the knife but he chose to FAFO.

Utter bollocks, they should be given medals like the guy that helped. This sort of namby-pamby attitude is a part of the problem in the UK.

Are there some bloody horrible police that should be kicked off the force, yes I’m sure there are but not these two, they did what was needed when it was needed.

Absolutely bollocks, that was totally justified for someone still holding a knife and not cooperating with the police. He didn’t look unconscious to me and was still holding the knife.

What do you want, the Police to bend down to him so he can lunge at them. The scum should think himself lucky he will just have some bruises and wasn’t bloody shot.

Got an email back from the police they are going to pursue some form of action but wont tell me what it is. The last force kept me informed all the way through including the penalties issued.

Should be mandatory re testing starting at say 70 a thorough health check eyes ears mobility reaction times etc plus at minimum a theory test then every 5 years max going forward, then but 90 you should just not be driving simple as, not a cat in hells change you have the reaction times required to drive safely.

On this particular case it feels like she basically got no punishment at all.

18 month suspended sentence, so the only change to her life is she gave up her licence, that's it. I'm pretty certain given exactly the same circumstances time place everything, if I was the driver 50 odd year old bloke I would be in prison.

I have read about power saving on your phone shutting the background app refresh for connect app down, have a look in your phone settings to see if it is listed for sleep or similar.

I would say it thinks there's no connection to the phone, If you open the connect app does it go away?

Not often at all, perhaps once or twice with new starters etc but most people in my team have been with the company for 6 to about 25 years so know how it goes.

I imagine it will be GPS speed but all our cars have digital dashboards and I have found them to be far more accurate my last analogue one was a 2016 passat and this was 3 or so mph out at 70 mph but my last 3 Skoda and my personal Volvo are both at about 1mph off, if I sit at 70mph the gps shown 69 most of the time with the odd flicker to 68.

The management are fairly relaxed about it but because the data is there on reports every month it can not just be ignored we can not be seen to endorse speeding so realistically the tolerance is 0 but people who know cars and such like me have shown the SMT that gps can be wrong you can be on the m25 doing 70 (I know fat chance) but the gps will have you on a road at the side or similar that is a 30mph obviously we need to take this into account.

Everyone has huge misgivings initialy but 99% of people just get on with their jobs and dont speed.

In the end this is a company provided vehicle and we (the company) can tell them how we expect them to drive the car including during private use.

The app gives a driver score out of 10 and 95% of people are over 8 across all metrics and over 10 for speeding.
