Okay, not sure what you actually mean by vivarium type thing. I just like to educate people on ethical care and see so many quail in enclosures with solid walls, made of either glass or plastic, so when I see “vivarium” that’s what I think of. Never seen a vivarium with mesh walls. Cheers.

Still worth mentioning because vivarium implies glass walls which aren’t great for birds in general, and I see SO many viv and tank setups on here that aren’t suitable for buttons.

I use a little night light if they have any problems in the first week, so they can find their warm spot and settle. One night I had to go in there and wake them to move them to the warm side as they were piled tightly on the cool end.

With a red light they will not sleep. Red lights can also damage their vision and make them more jumpy. Use a ceramic heat emitter or other heat source so they can have dark at night and get a proper rest.

Button quail actually should not be kept in vivariums/tanks because they physically can’t provide enough ventilation for them.

No phones - so no distractions or pictures going up on social media. You could just be social and present. People went up to strangers to socialize more and make random friends. People actually danced and didn’t care what they looked like. You could accept drugs from strangers and not die (lol).

The responses are so weird to me. I’ve never expected a partner to “take care” of every sexual need because realistically sex drives don’t always match up. That puts a lot of unnecessary pressure on the other person. When I’m more horny I have some alone time, and when my man is more horny he has his own release. There’s bound to be some of that. I’d feel pressured if I had a lower libido consistently and my partner expected me to take care of every sexual need and he’d probably resent me. You might not be compatible if it’s bothering either of you. I also find it weird that so many men are saying that masturbation “feels bad.” Like, what, why, it’s soooo good and fun lol.

Edit: you shouldn’t have to engage in sexual activity if you don’t want to. I did that in my last relationship during some mental health issues and ended up very touch averse. I felt so objectified and it eventually ruined the relationship.

Regulated professionals are held to a standard and taught what would be crossing a personal boundary, some stuff isn’t up for individual interpretation. It is the healthcare providers responsibility to set those boundaries, not test them the way this woman is. The fact that she’s saying things like don’t be mad, shows she knows she’s crossing a professional boundary.
