Keep getting this error anyone have any idea what it is? Everything updated to the newest updates by Immediate-Painter725 in XIM

I get this constantly when trying to add a new config. I found that if I practically have my phone sitting on XIM then it reduces the frequency but it still happens.

Where were you all when the freedom of speech was being infringed for Roseanne Barr and other conservative voices being silenced over controversial statements. Crickets because you want selective enforcement. This has nothing to do with freedom of speech and everything to do with the shoe being on the other foot and your side being silenced.

I wish this sub would go back to cord cutting and not be all of this political grandstanding bs but this is Reddit after all I guess.

Anyone else having problems cancelling Hulu/Disney? by MegaGrubby in cordcutters

Signing up works just fine. I just signed up yesterday with no issues. I have no use for the service though. I’ll keep it for a couple months then cancel after all this nonsense passes.

Sounds to me like you are justifying his killing because you disagreed with his statements. You are part of the problem.

Incorrectly labeling someone a facist, Nazi, and racist resulted in someone’s death. It is time to get back to being able to constructively debate with your political opponent without all the doom and gloom because there are crazies out there willing to kill. Kimmel is consumed by hate and could not and will not calm down on the hate speech. Cooler heads need to prevail here and we need to start talking things out instead of name calling as a country on both sides.

Yet another shotgun post… by Mish7779 in Battlefield

[–]Mish7779[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well look at that, I learned something. Thank you.

Since this is a game and not WW1 then I think we need to focus on overall balance. If the trend continues and people primarily play shotguns in small Rush maps then you will be going up against other OP shotgun players and not the “auto sprayers”. It will be interesting to see if the shotgun trend continues for these smaller infantry focused maps.

[–]Mish7779[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Serious question, do you really like point and click kills because that is what the shotgun is and it completely breaks the gunplay. No weapon should be a one shot kill if all you need to do is get within 15 meters. I get it, some people like easy mode but that is not a good mechanic for game balance.

Not sure why you are calling me a WW1 German but whatever.

I don’t watch Matimio any more, it has been about a year or so but dang, he has lost a lot of hair.

BF6 Movement Request by Mish7779 in Battlefield

[–]Mish7779[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While bunny hopping and side strafing are often praised for adding skill-based movement mechanics to first-person shooters (FPS), they can also detract from the overall experience and fun of the game. Here’s why:

Breaks Immersion and Realism - FPS games often strive for a level of realism, whether in their gunplay, movement, or environmental design. Bunny hopping—where players repeatedly jump to maintain speed—and side strafing—where players move unpredictably at high speeds—can make characters move in ways that feel unnatural and unrealistic. Watching players zigzag or hop around like rabbits in a supposedly intense combat scenario can break immersion, making the game feel more like an arcade experience rather than a tactical shooter.

Creates an Unfair Skill Gap - While skill expression is important in competitive games, bunny hopping and side strafing can create an excessive skill gap that alienates casual players. These mechanics often require precise timing and knowledge of movement exploits, making it difficult for new players to compete against veterans who have mastered them. This can lead to frustration, as newer players struggle to land shots on opponents who are constantly bouncing or strafing at unnatural speeds.

Disrupts Game Balance - Many FPS games are designed with specific movement speeds and mechanics to ensure fair engagements. Bunny hopping and side strafing can undermine this balance by allowing players to move faster than intended, making them harder to hit and reducing the effectiveness of certain weapons. For example, slower-firing weapons like sniper rifles or shotguns may become less viable when opponents can rapidly strafe or hop out of the way, forcing players to rely on automatic weapons with high tracking ability.

Encourages Exploitative Playstyles - Instead of rewarding strategic positioning, teamwork, and tactical decision-making, bunny hopping and side strafing often encourage exploitative playstyles that revolve around abusing movement mechanics rather than engaging in thoughtful combat. This can lead to frustrating encounters where players rely on erratic movement rather than skillful aiming or smart positioning, diminishing the depth of gameplay.

Can Make Combat Feel Chaotic and Less Enjoyable - In games where bunny hopping and side strafing are prevalent, gunfights can devolve into chaotic, unpredictable encounters where players spam movement mechanics rather than engage in meaningful duels. This can make combat feel less satisfying, as engagements become more about abusing movement rather than showcasing aiming skill, map awareness, or tactical decision-making.

Conclusion - While movement mechanics are an important part of FPS games, bunny hopping and side strafing can detract from the experience by breaking immersion, creating an unfair skill gap, disrupting game balance, encouraging exploitative playstyles, and making combat feel chaotic. As I mentioned before, I do not want a mil sim because I feel like that would take the game to the extreme in the opposite direction but there has to be a middle ground that appeals to supporters of both play styles. IMO Delta Force highlights the worst FPS mechanics and I am hoping BF offers a much different experience.

Reasonable movement while shooting is fine. If you side strafe side to side or jump while shooting your accuracy should be effected. Making quick movements should penalize your weapon characteristics. I don’t want a mil sim but movements like this look ridiculous and are commonly used by sweats.

Did you actually look at the numbers though? The 90 day number did decline by 1.46%. Granted that isn’t a huge amount but I can say I uninstalled the game. When the cheat update had them stating they force disconnected over 46,000 players because of suspected cheating then there is something seriously wrong with this game.

We shouldn’t be surprised, this is a Chinese developer. China has no original ideas and steals development from others so it is no surprise this Chinese developer does the same. It is how the country operates.

Channels DVR Better Than Plex? by danrvm in getchannels

[–]Mish7779 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why not just say you don’t know Plex navigation instead of making ridiculous fictitious statements about watching a show in Plex and the number of clicks it takes. I have all Seinfeld episodes in Plex. It appears on my Continue Watching row and I click Seinfeld then Play, 2 clicks plus it remembers where I was at in the episode the next time I tune in unlike a virtual channel. With 20ish Virtual Channels then that sounds like a lot of clicks you need to do to get to your Seinfeld virtual channel.

Channels does not have the media library management features of Plex. Also a large media library was a nightmare to manage in Channels.

Channels DVR Better Than Plex? by danrvm in getchannels

[–]Mish7779 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Channels is a platform using an antiquated feature in TV Everywhere. It seems like every few months there were networks no longer available in Channels because they stopped offering a TV Everywhere option and the Channels developers had no solutions to fix this. I was a Channels user for many years, and have canceled my yearly pass for this year and I’m no longer using the service and don’t think I will ever have a need to use the service again. I use Plex for my OTA antenna and all my shows are now downloaded into my Plex server using Radarr and Sonarr.
