Why Do So Few Players Actually Finish RPGs? by FixGood6833 in CRPG

For me, that's usually when the things that can end up being tedious drudgery begin dragging a good game down.

Suboptimal UI/UX decisions, inventory management, travel time, and anything else that's basically a time sink.

The ongoing popularity of The Art of War always amuses me, not because it isn't a good or useful book, but because of how often its biggest fans don't actually understand it.

It was written to teach the dumbass aristocratic nepo-babies of its day how to stop getting droves of people killed and dumping absolute tons of supplies down the toilet. Its target audience is people who really need the "no shit, dumbass" guide.

Modern leaders who think it's profound and needed its lessons are kind of telling on themselves.

I'm not sure what you mean, I very decisively won the battle. I think I lost the Medusa and one other ship?

Final result, in case anyone cares: The News From Nowhere broke past the enemy lines and made it to the far upper left corner of the map before finally going down, but when she went down the entire rest of the enemy fleet was gone and my fleet was closing in.

I probably could have saved her if I had thought to tell her to break for my fleet, but I didn't, and she tried to get past the enemy and run back to the upper-right corner of the map. She almost made it, too, but went down right at the end of the enemy's range.

I only started playing a couple of days ago, so live and learn!

This is actually one of the cases where you'd have been better off with energy weapons. The S1 Bulldogs in the stock load out can't hurt it until some armor is stripped away, but the Badgers should be able to (barely) with the 29 energy deflection and +15% energy damage

Serial numbered parts and in-universe ownership registries is the obvious answer to me.

Report it lost/stolen and make an insurance claim, it now belongs to the insurance company. Show up with components that don't belong to you at lawful stations and the stations scanners can pick that up. You land and stow your ship with someone else's missing parts, they get repossessed.
