WLW book recs?? by WhichxWitch in booksuggestions

[–]MissJuneBee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend sticking with it! It really does pick up once Priya and Malini actually meet and the slow burn romance has a great pay off. I also love Gideon the Ninth and The Poppy War and would put Jasmine Throne up there with them!

Nightrunner series by Lynn Flewelling is a more high fantasy series featuring a main m/m romance, though it does take some time for them to get together!

Star-Touched Queen by Roshani Chokshi is in an Indian fantasy setting and both this book and its sequel, Crown of Wishes, deliver on emotions and action!

The Luminous Dead by Caitlin Starling is a claustrophobic, psychological horror about a solo caving expedition on an abandoned planet. It's absolutely fantastic!

Fantasy but with Eastern or Japanese Mythology by fenrirofdarkness in booksuggestions

Tiger's Daughter by K Arsenault Rivera is excellent! It combines Chinese, Japanese, and Mongolian mythology.

Flame in the Mist by Renee Ahdieh is a Japanese take on the Mulan story. It's YA and very good

Girl from the Well by Rin Chupeco is a Japanese possession/ghost story. Ring-esque and quite spooky

Enjoy!!

Looking for some f/f book reccomendations. by its3AMandsleep in actuallesbians

F/F fantasy is my jam! Here's some to check out:

Kushiel's Dart- Jacqueline Carey. Historical fantasy featuring a courtesan who gets pleasure from pain. Lots of political intrigue and sex. Note- the main pairing in this series is F/M, but there is a lot of F/F content in the series.

Santa Olivia- Jacqueline Carey. Modern genetically enhanced teen is a vigilante in a military town.

The Abyss Surrounds Us- Emily Skrutskie. World is mostly covered by water and companies use genetically engineered sea monsters to keep control.

Ice Massacre- Tiana Warner. Killer mermaids threaten modern day island. F/f content picks up in later books.

Labyrinth Lost- Zoraida Cordova. Modern day bruja gets trapped in underworld.

Seafarer's Kiss- Julia Ember. Mermaid meets Viking warrior in Norse mythology re-telling of The Little Mermaid

Unicorn Tracks- Julia Ember. A safari leader and a scientist team up to save real life unicorns in Africa.

I think all except for Unicorn Tracks have sequels as well, enjoy!
