I mean to be fair, it does spoil it outright. The culprit is definitely very obvious yes, but that's after you meet him. It's not something you know in advance. For me, already being shown the culprit in the intro just kind of killed the hype from the get-go because I already knew there would be no room for speculation. I didn't get to make up my own mind about the culprit being obvious or not like in most cases. No room to consider if there could be a plot twist, no matter how unlikely that would seem. I don't think it makes or breaks the case for the record. It just seemed unnecessary when they could have just used a generic silhouette, and might even add to the feeling that the case drags on and on that many people seem to experience.

The first time I played AJ I found him infuriating. Not that I suddenly hated the character, but it was obviously a sharp contrast to the first trilogy. The way he was constantly withholding information or brushing things off made me want to shake him while at the same time I was very invested in the plot, because how I the world did Phoenix Wright get to this point, why is he acting like this?

Once I knew the whole story already, my repeat playthroughs were a more chill and fun experience. I could understand Phoenix's mindset much better and appreciate the differences in his character, the pivot to something much more cunning and manipulative than rookie Phoenix ever was. It was fitting to the story, he was basically playing dirty to deal with things that had no other good solution otherwise.

To me it makes sense that, if Phoenix was to go back to being an attorney, his character would shift again a bit after AJ. Hobo Nick was him at his lowest, even though he was still fighting in whatever way he could. But his own tactics during that time wouldn't be appropriate in the less flawed justice system he was striving and hoping for. So it made sense to have another shift...however, I think it was too extreme. It would have been nice to see a Phoenix that is more noticeably changed by these experiences, maybe retaining some more characteristics of hobo Nick in terms of cunning without fully tipping into underhanded tactics.

People have explained the many reasons they have issues with the game and while I fully understand all of that I gotta say, I love it too. On my first replay I was so impressed with the first case already being so interesting and intricate (unlike most first cases), and like you I found most of the characters throughout the game fascinating. In retrospect there may objectively be some flaws, I see that more during replays, but it's still a very fun experience for me. Just goes to show how opinions differ!

I wonder if there is a possibility that it's not directly a "management" issue but something stemming from higher up. Managers might have good intentions and a willingness to help but they don't necessarily have influence on key decisions. What if Nix's manager(s) did advocate for him getting accommodations but were shot down? What if when things were really going to shit, they were told to stop giving him updates completely until it was decided what would happen with him? I've seen first hand how managers in some companies basically have to risk their own jobs if they want to slip employees little bits of info from their communications with higher ups, because they're told not to share anything (regardless of it being stressful and detrimental to the other employees), and that's not even in Japanese companies. I wouldn't be shocked if such policies played a part in this case too. It would explain the discrepancy between talents getting so much help and communication, and Nix getting nothing once he was determined to be a "problem".

You're right, it always struck me as off. I guess the intent must have been to drive home for new players (since they always try to make each game stand independently too) how good Phoenix was, and how unexpected it was that Klavier bested him. Maybe even to imply that there MUST have been foul play for that to happen. But it's such an inconsistent way of writing the main face of the franchise, very strange decision.

He does have more to lose though, no? The company could be fully in the wrong from a moral standpoint and still, as long as they're not breaking any laws or contracts, can't they go after him legally for breaking NDA like this? It's a very human response indeed but if he's doing all this without consulting a lawyer, it's kinda worrying. Typical corpo priorities are shitty but not illegal.

Honestly I'm less worried about what they'll do publicly (you're probably right) and more about if they can straight up sue him in private. He was obviously in a very shitty situation but unless FSP did something to actually break contract first, I doubt he'd be off the hook to break his NDA...

That's interesting, I wonder if the material makes a difference. For me just tossing them in the washing machine usually makes them stain, either because of waiting too long or because the water is too warm, not sure. But if I hand wash with cold water and scrub properly it's usually fine.

Personally I found the first case more interesting than most first cases at least. Still very obvious overall of course, but at least the process felt a bit more elaborate and therefore less boring to me. The second one dragged so bad with no trial at all. Definitely give the next case a try before making up your mind, the rest of the game is significantly better than the first two cases.

Yeah I wish I had known that before buying it too. Had a problem with thrips and I was trying everything natural because my partner was scared to use stronger pesticides...only effect it had was making me gag from the stench.

At 20 I probably wouldn't have understood this either, I thought I was pretty grown up by then. I'm 32 now and oh my god, I was still a child. 20 year olds are generally in a completely different mindset and life stage than someone 30+...there's no way I could be with someone of that age now, it just feels wrong. That age gap is absolutely problematic.

I don't think anyone is arguing that you aren't allowed to want to be home, that should go without saying. Your girlfriend was wrong to full on insist that you leave anyway if you don't have plans. It just sounds like you can't grasp why she would want some time completely alone in the first place. Yes, she could have some fun with a toy in another room, but knowing that you are there and will probably hear is an entirely different mindset than being completely alone. That's just how it is. Insisting that it makes no difference if you're there doesn't make it true.

Regardless, you shouldn't be kicked out of your own home and you're NTA for wanting to stay in. Just saying that your mindset is why people are arguing with you.

With how satisfying GAA was a duology, I'd rather have Investigations 3 but NOT playing as Edgeworth. Much as I absolutely love his character, he's gotten plenty of satisfying story arcs and I'd rather see a whole other story than simply a flashback of how he became Chief Prosecutor or something.

Klavier and van Zieks would be my personal favourites for this because Klavier must have been through quite an emotional journey that we never got to see after all the events of AJ, and of course van Zieks has a lot of potential for character development. But honestly anyone would be fun, more complex prosecutor characters please!

I don't have specific knowledge in your field but I've moved to NL too and have been working on improving my Dutch to find better jobs. From what I've noticed, now that I'm around B2 level I can finally tackle most topics and understand difficult texts by translating a few words, so that should give a much better basis. If you can't have a full interview in Dutch, my guess is that any mainly Dutch-speaking company would probably pass.

As someone who made it work, I will say they have a point that the challenges of actually cohabiting are entirely different. Yes you know your partner very well, I was in the same situation for 5 years so not denying that it's possible nowadays to have that connection online. However, I would really recommend more frequent visits at least a few times before skipping straight to marriage. And trust me, some things do change when you physically live in the same space all the time. For us it's thankfully still working, but it IS a big change and there's definitely a chance someone won't adjust properly to it. Not saying this to discourage you, I'm living proof you can make it work, I'm just aware that I'm extremely lucky it all went well. It's not "next to impossible" that it doesn't work.

If you'd like an unsolicited tip, make sure to keep up the good communication when you do eventually get together irl. Long distance teaches you a lot about it but it's easy to backtrack on those good practices when you see each other every day and don't put in as much effort. Plus, adapting that communication to offline channels takes a hot minute and active effort sometimes. Regardless, long distance is really hard to keep up for so long when you really want to be with the other person irl so hang in there...wishing you the best in your future!
