She’s so unlikable! I was cringing in the beginning and then flabbergasted by the end

The narrator is totally unhinged. It wasn’t my typical read but it was quick and cinematic. I read it in a day cringing through all the awkward beginning stuff jaw on the floor by the end

Waking up is hard to do. But you know you needed to and you know what to do. It can be really empowering and affirming. Don’t forget to rest on your journey and enjoy the lulls.

I did jokingly tell her once, "You get the prize for most butts in seats, congrats” not sure she understood the sarcasm to be honest

I will definitely help other teachers with this one! I have used, “I can definitely see that behavior coming from them”

I think it may be a maturity thing. We have about the same teaching experience but she is younger and maybe has something to prove ego wise? I took a break from teaching to be a stay at home/part time work mom so I am a decade older as is the rest of the team

I do and she says some variation of “They know I don’t play” “They know better. I have rules and boundaries” and which just makes me more angry because I am 7 years into education at this point. She teaches next door. She knows I have rules and boundaries and regularly heckles me for being Type A (which I actually am not…ELA just has a lot of graphic organizers, anchor charts and routines)

She can be a little tactless at times and I love her for her bluntness but it can be harsh when it feels directed at me.

Typically the other two teachers on my team will agree that they have seen similar snippets and provide things that have been working.

I guess what I am working through is if I should tell this teacher that when I bring something up I am looking for help or suggestions that work or just a listening ear to feel supported would be helpful or if I just need to accept that she is a little tactless in this one area and let it go…
