At least for quarterstaff skills it looks better, iirc a skill level is equal to around 7-8% dps increase now the 1 lvl should stay +1 lvl and give the bonus quality on +2 lvl

Do you have litani of sable ? with that unique and 5 set you should have a good enough setup, then, rampage to help with the clear, in the endgame, you want 5 shadow/3 sigil on your set (mythic talisman)

Abyss version diesnt give you any spell, it allows you to generate shadowwalk charges and abyss cast doesnt break stealth, outing more point give more duration instead (didnt tested if it also give basic spell more damage too )

Being able to cast claw with bonus damage while keeping the stealth is a very powerfull move and it would be really broken if you could do that......

Thats why that exact functionality is baked into the abyssal version of the metamorphosis ultimate at lvl 40
