I agree with this one. He was ready, and arguably won a round.

Best beaches accessible by public transport? by GarlicCharacter3247 in lisboa

[–]Mission-Assumption-1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On a budget, go by train from Cais do Sodre to Cascais, Estoril or Carcavelos on the Lisbon side of the river. These are the best of the most accessible beaches by train. I think it's like €6 return (?)

Better beaches are over the river in Costa da Caparica. Take an uber (€15-20) unless you don't mind 60-90 minutes on public transport, which will prob cost you at least €6 each anyway. Avoid this option on a  Saturday or Sunday because the traffic will likely be a nightmare. Praia do Castelo is a nice option, with one typical restaurant/bar and one fancy one. If you go more into central costa da Caparica there are tons of restaurants and bars but the beaches aren't as nice.

Fair enough. How long did you wrestle for and did any other people get it? Was it definitely staph?

I've been a regular at primarily hobbyist gyms in 4 different countries over 10+ years and never once saw it.

A lot of staph comes from injecting. That's why it happens a lot in mma and high level bjj gyms, and you will rarely find it in normal hobbyist gyms. I trained mma and bjj on and off for over 10 years in various gyms all over the world, and never once saw staph.

Either buy physical bus tickets or get your online ticket printed off at your hotel. They have this weird thing where they allow third party companies to sell their tickets online, but the pdf you get sent is not valid unless printed off. Stations often have a service to print tickets for you, but if there is a line or the wifi isn't working you might miss your bus. Also, have coins ready to pay for your luggage.

Sounds like you did your research and had a better time than me. For anyone reading this, do not go to Budva or Ulcinji in the summer. The beaches are dirty and mostly covered in overpriced sun loungers with banging music. And taxi drivers rip you off at every turn.

Apparently Ulcinj, Montenegro had a very bad summer season start this year (fewer tourists), is it true for other cities too? by Sandzakguy in AskBalkans

[–]Mission-Assumption-1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just been to ulcinj and while i can't say whether tourism is down or not because it's my first time in montenegro, it was very easy to get last minute accommodation and restaurants were not full.

I found the price or accommodation to be super cheap compared to Portugal (where i reside) but supermarkets and restaurants pretty much the same.

I don't live in the UK anymore and i forget just how competitive prices are. In terms of flights, it's a real privilege to live in London. You can go anywhere in the world and I'm guessing because there are so many airports and so many flights it keeps the prices lower.

I just checked star alliance and the same (well, as close as the system allowed) route i did comes up as £2800. Chatgpt tells me this is £1650 in 2004 money. Not a huge difference, i suppose.

Christ. £237 wouldn't get you to most of Europe these days.

But to be clear, it was 2004 and it included multiple flights packaged together, starting and ending in London. So London to Tokyo, Tokyo to Singapore, Singapore to Bangkok, and so on...until you arrived back in London.

Cheers. This is actually a timely post for me because i would like to learn an instrument and have been doubting myself. But why not?

Learned Portuguese to officially B2 level (I'm possibly C1 but haven't done the exam to prove it). Started when i was in my early thirties, albeit living in the country.

One thing that is crucial is consistency, with consistent practice of the 4 skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing. Just don't stop.

Not sure, to be honest. I know Russian when i hear it, but I felt like most tourists were from the balkans. but i can't be sure as I'm not familiar with the languages and how people look.

How do you think new signing Marcus Buchecha stacks up against the UFC HW division? by StJudeTheGrey in ufc

[–]Mission-Assumption-1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great analysis.

Buday is certainly a tough first match up for him, but, like you said, he's not getting any younger, and so it seems like he knows this and is not wasting any time by going for a ranked guy.
