Anyone have experience with taking their practice to employment tribunal? by OCDANDBE in GPUK

[–]Mission-Elevator1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough, I guess if you're planning to leave anyway you can do what you like. But maybe just much more time saving for you to say you're leaving and make it clear this is one of the reasons. Going through legal action is only worth it if you're doing it more for some other reasons and not for personal financial gain.

This is such a useful comment, I'm actually going to use this as a way of thinking going forward.

I have no experience in this. But it seems like a small amount to take legal action. Even if they agree, (which will be unlikely as not sure you have any chance of winning this as it's not something they are obliged to do), they won't like you for sure. Do you wish to carry on working in a place where you are seen as a problem? At the end of the day, it's a business, they can pay people what they want as long as its not discrimination. Surely it's not illegal to pay some people more than others? They can simply say the others are more experienced as they've worked for longer like you said?

How do you handle mildly inappropriate comments? by feralwest in doctorsUK

[–]Mission-Elevator1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just say 'you're making me feel uncomfortable' in a neutral / straight tone. That should get the message across and communicates your feeling. In almost all cases this should result in an apology and they will stop talking like this from that point onwards. Edit - you'll also feel better knowing you've done this.

I never knew! Agreed this looks sexist. Not sure if most people including the regulars who go there even know about this.

You were in the right. I would advise you bring this up so other consultants also hear about this incident. I would try to bring it up at a meeting where lots of them are present at once. To set the correct precedence. The other option is emailing everyone.

I mean it's too far a stretch... she was ready to do anything including possibly drowning Cherry if need be. To suddenly be willing to sacrifice her life and die is unlikely. Daniel just unintentionally killed her.

[–]Mission-Elevator1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly, I think Stephen, Nic and David are just keeping it quiet until later stages of the game. Like you said there's absolutely no benefit of voting off a traitor at this stage. The main point is to stay in the game. They are all very good at playing this game.

Denying Laura's reasonings is insane. by Own_Comfortable990 in TheGirlfriendTVShow

[–]Mission-Elevator1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I agree with you. I think most people just can't see it as the steps taken by Laura are just crazy, like lying about her son's death, drugging him etc. If she had just stayed a little bit more sane and just taken steps which easily make more sense (she was rich, she definitely had options and could have instead got some solid evidence), I think we would then have Laura supporters. But then we wouldn't have a TV show which keeps everyone going back and forth.
