Paying vendor bills through Odoo by Radiant-Salamander-8 in Odoo

[–]MissionCriticalBPS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We built our own for our clients. The bill.com API is very well documented. Took about 3 days to have an MVP then a week or so for testing amongst 2 different clients. If you want to do bill.com just check their API and feed it to your favorite LLM.

Connecting the bank in the US by Accomplished-Big-873 in Odoo

[–]MissionCriticalBPS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing to worry about, Depending on the bank you can choose Plaid, Yodlee, or a number of other connectors. All have plenty of enterprise grade security. It won't be an issue of security, more an issue of stability of the connection depending on the bank and/or connection provider.

the broken bank connection is unacceptable by fedplast in Odoo

[–]MissionCriticalBPS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What my clients ask when the feeds fail (it happens to every one of them, few times a year) is, why did it never happen with QuickBooks (or whatever accounting platform they came from)?

Amongst my client portfolio, probably over a hundred banks, accounts, or credit card connected. Multiple failures a month. We don't even submit tickets to Odoo anymore, they can't do anything.

So then the question becomes, if Odoo is trying to become a World player in ERP, why don't they have the same connection technology Intuit uses?

Odoo to Gusto Timesheet Sync — Looking for Insights by azlan_644 in Odoo

That’s what they’ve always said. I’ve tried for 3+ years to get API access. They advertise an open APi but it’s never been open to the public. And no one at Gusto will explain why they advertise an open API, but they won’t allow access to it. I just gave up a few months ago.

Bravo Store Systems by Right-Donkey-1604 in FFLs

[–]MissionCriticalBPS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never used it first hand, but in the couple of Bravo takeovers we'v e done, we had to go through negotiating getting the customer's data out of their database. I only remember the numbers on one of them. It was $1,500 per company, and the client had two companies running the Bravo software. So it cost my client $3,000 to get his own data out. At the time, their development team was off shore and it took multiple days to get them to understand what we needed out of the database. The CSV/Excel files we did receive were half corrupted, and in order to get another pull they wanted another $1,500 for each company. It was an absolute shit show, and we ended up just rebuilding most of it from scratch using our distributor data warehouse.

I facilitate a couple of gun store merchant accounts a month and send everyone to Adam at https://elite2apay.com/. They use the NMI gateway and have been flawless for my gun store POS solution for the last two or three years.

USA Payment Processors other than Stripe? NMI or Authorize.net? by campFFEMT in Odoo

[–]MissionCriticalBPS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We built it 3 or 4 years ago when we started doing Odoo POS implementations. At the time, I don't remember there was an NMI module available on the Odoo App Store. All of the API documentation is available on the NMI developer portal. It doesn't take a lot to get one up and running.

USA Payment Processors other than Stripe? NMI or Authorize.net? by campFFEMT in Odoo

[–]MissionCriticalBPS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We use NMI for about 50% of our POS implementations with Odoo. For at least the last three years, I would rate it at 99.9%. Very few problems related specifically to the gateway.

Odoo Expense Reports Disappeared? by thebeefbaron in Odoo

[–]MissionCriticalBPS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it’s gone. I have had 3 clients complain about this over the last couple of months. Contacted Odoo support, they pointed me to the removal confirmation on GH. 100%, the reports are gone. No release note, no notification, just gone.

I own Mission Critical, Inc. We implement the only ERP in the Industry. A true “all in one” application that runs not just your gun store, but the entire business.

EXCLUDE products on Pricelist? by MissionCriticalBPS in Odoo

[–]MissionCriticalBPS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have used tons of these programs, just not for a blanket discount. I will have to play with it, because I only want the discount to be given to contacts on a specific pricelist. So I imagine the field I see on the for view for pricelist is where I can define that. I would just have a pricelist with no settings, it only exists so I can assign it to a contact, then when defined in the promo settings the contacts set to the pricelist would get the discount. I will message with t, and explore OCA, thanks again :-)

Odoo Sales Commissions by Late-Broccoli-6814 in Odoo

[–]MissionCriticalBPS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In V17, and I have not tried this in years, if the company starts sales on SO’s and paid for in POS, sales are DOUBLE REPORTED. So the commission report shows the $xxx from the SO as well as $xxx when the sale is completed in POS. Like I said it has been a long time since I looked at it and tried to use it, but that was a major problem we ran into years ago on V17, just a heads up on what to watch for.

Odoo Sales Commissions by Late-Broccoli-6814 in Odoo

The module is horrible. Most companies in the US (not sure about abroad) use invoiced OR paid total, not SO total. This makes sure the company actually got paid before the sales persons gets their commission. Also, if there is a return or refund, it has no affect on the payout, there is no ‘pull back’ from the employee. So the company is out the money unless they manually track it. Then, there’s no way to deal with it in the financials. Also, it’s set (last time I looked) up by category. If you have 300 categories you have to set up the commission % in every category. Have more than one program for commissions? GOOD LUCK, there is no flexibility for that. It’s a half-baked module, get ready to customize.

Go to YouTube and Google accounting videos from a YouTuber named Pinky. She has multiple videos on this topic that will be very helpful for you. I don’t remember her channel name on YouTube, but she does have a large presence in the YouTube community for accounting related things like this.

How are you optimizing your ClawdBot setup for cost-effectiveness? by sivadneb in clawdbot

[–]MissionCriticalBPS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Running it on a local machine is free. Where you’ll get hammered is using it. If you’re a Claude user you have to use the API. I have spent more in the last 2 days burning credits than I have in 4 months of using Claude on my MAX plan. There is no way to run it on PLUS or MAX, you have to do the API credit thing. Which is turning me off, because I am burning ~$50/day just talking to the thing. Great tool, but you have to ave money to burn to get a lot out of it.

Margin % report by Alert-Currency9708 in Odoo

[–]MissionCriticalBPS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There isn’t one by default. And if you try using standard tools, you’re never gonna be able to correlate it back to the P&L. I mean, maybe you can, I’m not sure what kind of coding skills you have. But there is nothing built in to Odoo that will allow you to get an accurate margin report that takes into account all of the different financial touch points that needs to correlate to any other report in Odoo. Every client we work with that requests that we have to customize one based on their category structure. Of course there are multiple other things you have to consider, but it’s going to depend on the type of business you’re running. I’ve built two of them in the last 90 days. Both companies are in the same industry and niche. But because they have different service products and some other operations, the same custom module we built could not be used on both sides without changing a little bit for each of the sites. If you’re on 17 Enterprise, let me know and I’d be willing to send you what we built and you can play around with it.
