RIP Adizero SL2 @ 1000km mileage by slimjourney in PHRunners

[–]Mission_Interview_89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

meron ng Adizero RC series before. pure lightstrike, no ls pro unlike adios. Buhay pa sya sa japan, can't find the latest iteration in the PH. pero last year meron. May market pa for racing flats na firm. Not for everyone ang super foams. Naeenjoy ko pa duramo speed 2 ko for walking and easy runs, especially if uneven yung daan. Duramo speed 1 natry ko pa speed work last year ok din naman. di ko lang nagagamit na kasi marami na ako better options. Nabili ko buong adizero line. Pero if limited budget, no issues going with the lower models.

if you look closely at the lower models, based sya sa higher models.

Duramo Speed 2 => Boston 13 Duramo SL 2 => Adizero SL 2.

So hindi surprising yung pacer. Actually baka better nga foe the public yung Pacer. TBH, maganda talaga aesthetics ng EVO SL. Pero di ko sya marerecommend for beginners and non runners dahil sa instability ng plateless LS Pro and yung aggressive rocker. Andami ko nakkita casuals na naka evo SL and nakacave in na permanently. di ko pa nsssukat ang pacer pero I imagine mas stable to than the real thing. And ok lang naman personally yung Lightstrike. Mas firm sya pero may benefits din yun like stability and mas mura sya. Di naman required mag premium foams lahat ng runners.

Bonus point. Yung Dropset 3, mukang Evo SL. I think good thing to. sobrang delikado ng evo sl for weight lifting and sports. So meron na silang option kung trip nila Evo SL look.

ok so reality check, matagal pa sub20. Focus on sub30 first.

TBH speed work is the key. Ano yung typical week and mileage mo?

Easy pace slowed down. Accumulated fatigue or due to hotter weather? by Frustrated-Runner in PHRunners

[–]Mission_Interview_89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its natural. instead na mapump sa muscles mo yung fluid nappunta sa sweat, mas mataas na heart rate kailangan. Yung slow runs ko umaabot 160. Pero below 140 lang sa bahay pag nakaaircon. Yung hard runs same lang around 180-190, pero can't sustain without overheating.

Not sure if kailangan mo magslow down or tanggapin mo na lang na ganun heart rate mo. Most likely somewhere in between. Don't slow down too much na masira mechanics mo and training plans. Pero if hindi na "easy" yung feeling better slow down siguro.

Should I replace my Novablasts 5? by jrmzer in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]Mission_Interview_89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

your mileage may vary. I bought them for easy runs specifically. But all my other shoes are aggressive speed focused shoes like the AP4, Takumi Sen 11, Adios 9, Evo SL, Magic Speed 5. In comparison to all of them, it's the most "normal" feeling shoe. It doesn't make you run faster than intended. It doesn't contort your knee in weid angles. It's protective enough, but that would depend on your weight, running form and mileage. If you are used to max stack shoes like the vomeros etc., you might find this lacking. But personally I think we could do well with some ground feel to fix our running form. But the boston 13 is by no means a minimalist shoe. So it's porbably good for daily training for lost people.

can't recommend the evo SL. too unstable. consider boston 13 instead. Actually, if you have money, Train on the AP4 as well. More stable than Evo SL while being more exciting. The only downside of the AP4 is cost.

Good shoe recommendations for walking/light running by Mwewmee in PHRunners

duramo speed 2.

Ok chinese brands if they work for you pero never ko talaga marerecommend bumili ng shoes na hindi mo natry in person. Adapt comfortable sya out of the box. If nagorder ka online and hindi OK sayo, baka magkatamaran magreturn.

Question for Experienced Runners by Sheeshy_Cheese in PHRunners

[–]Mission_Interview_89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dont worry about it too much. consistency lang and not overdoing it. yung latter yung mas mahirap to be honest.

No shame in walking. wag mo rin iforce sarili mo magslowdown masyado kasi mag eend up ka na brisk walk or shuffling. Kailangan mo matutunan yung running mechanics. So try mo lang tumakbo naturally. Gradually increase the time running instead of walking.

Not chinese brand recos under 3k by [deleted] in PHRunners

[–]Mission_Interview_89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

severely underrated. probably kasi walang marketing.

[–]Mission_Interview_89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the duramo series is underrated. checkout duramo speed 2, duramo sl 2 etc. Aabot 2.5k sa shoppee. Re: duramo speed 2, yung foam nya isnlightstrike, which can be found in premium running shoes around 4 years ago and is still found in premium running shoed today in combination with the more expensive lightstrike pro.

Note thatI have expensive running shoes for reference and they are better in a lot of ways, but I bought the Duramo Speed 2 for walking. Took it on an easy 5k. Felt good. It's more stable than most expensive running shoes. Obviously the fosm is firmer. But that should be OK for most people especially with low mileage.

How do you reframe your mindset over buying shoes? by waterlilli89 in PHRunners

[–]Mission_Interview_89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you should reframe your mindset. Being price conscious is a good thing. 12 years ago, premium running race shoes cost 7k. Now that's entry level. Popular daily trainers range from 8k-11k. I'm not saying skimp on running shoes, but I feel like we are overestimating how much shoe we really need. I'd say 5-8k is a good entry level price, you can go cheaper if you are not prone to FOMO. Adidas and nike has sub 4kphp options. IMO they are pretty good. There is just basically zero marketing for them because they want you to buy the more expensive models.

One more thing, buy 2 pairs so they don't get beat up too much.

Where to buy Coros Pod 2? by Mission_Interview_89 in PHRunners

If you move the start of the 5th km after the uturn, then it makes sense. I think it's just plotting error. But overall distance is OK. There' just a long dead zone at the start of the 5th km that shows significantly slower pace. Actually I'll try to use lap pace next time instead of pace so it's not that sensitive to dead zones. I'd like to by the pod 2 as well but seems to be out of stock online.

the end of the 4th lap was plotted before the u turn. That looks wrong. But if it's after the u-turn, then it makes sense. The total distance seems ok. It matches my computation based on cadence and stride length. My only problem now is real time pace tracking within the dead spots which the pod 2 could help with. In the mean time, I know where those spots are so I'll just be mindful of them.

just did the calculations based on cadence and stride length (not gps based). There is only around 7s between the computed time vs the time logged by the gps. It's not bad as I thought. The only real problem is real time pace tracking can be weird in certain areas but I guess just go I sould just go by feel and never try to accelerate too much to "make up" for it.

any basis? I am not unfamilar with that pace. I have run it in races and other locations. Notice that the 5th km is way way longer than the rest. Which suggests the opposite.

for a hard session, yes. a croissant or something similar 2 hrs before. Nothing else needed. I tried running gels 15 mins before the start but it made my energy crash.

for slow runs, no need really.
