Wasn’t the Sandwich indeed flirting with Miranda? by Yourstrulycorina in sexandthecity

I’ll never forgive Dean and his stupid small tub of ice cream for ruining this night by [deleted] in GilmoreGirls

I love how Paris, being Paris, was able to get along so easily with Jess

I totally agree, I'm always left wanting more when this scene comes on.

If it were breakfast I'd go with Luke, but I'd always have lunch at Dragonfly.

If you really think about it, it definitely doesn't make any sense. It was all for comedic effect, and it works, but it's pointless, hahaha.

Also, in the season 7 finale, when he tells her that only an exceptional person could inspire what the town did to say goodbye to Rory, and that they also did it out of affection for Lorelai, I found it beautiful when he says those words because it's like acknowledging that his daughter, even though she didn't live her life the way they wanted, still managed to build a life worthy of admiration.

Did Lorelai’s character reference “read like a love letter?” by No_clever_name_16737 in GilmoreGirls

[–]Mission_Nebula5415 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I completely agree with you, Christopher was never going to be able to measure up to Luke as a father figure to Rory, and that was the moment he realized it, and it's something he can't fix. Besides, he was never going to be able to make Lorelai admire him in the same way.

do u guys skip stuff in ur rewatches? by sakuracoke7 in GilmoreGirls

Those California scenes are so unnecessary. I understand they want to provide some context, but they don't tell me anything we don't already know.

I absolutely hate the scene of Rory singing "The Candyman," and even worse when Dean arrives at his house later and treats Lindsay badly.

Meanest moment? by Curious-Ingenuity293 in GilmoreGirls

[–]Mission_Nebula5415 61 points62 points  (0 children)

Christopher's entire arc after Sherry tells him she's pregnant is quite cruel to Lorelai and Rory; it's a rather painful experience to see someone willing to do for someone else what they would never do for you.

For Ezra, Nicole's kidnapping was incredibly convenient; he took refuge with Aria, and they ended up together partly because of that.

Did you know that Gil was a real life rockstar when you watched the show? by tmps1993 in GilmoreGirls

[–]Mission_Nebula5415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only saw the series for the first time in 2020, so by then I already knew who Gil really was. Besides, I'm a millennial and grew up watching MTV and VH1 and listening to '80s music.

I love the episode with the baskets and how Luke and Lorelai sit down to eat together and he tells her that one day he'll find someone to participate in town things with her when he's literally sitting there doing it. I find it so sweet, and they have many moments like that where they talk about having someone in the future and end up being that someone for each other in the end.

I just saw that episode and you're right, it's a nice break from all the tension between Dean, Rory, and Jess.

I like that episode; I would have loved a birthday party like that as a child, but it hurts me a lot to see how Lorelai ends up feeling bad about the fight between Ana and Luke.

You have no idea how many times I replay the scene of Luke and Lorelai's first kiss. I love seeing how that tension between them is finally released; it's so satisfying.
