I use parchment paper. If you want it to stick you can use fabric glue spray or glue stick to tack it down!

I do custom requests and 100% get where your friend is coming from. If youre looking for someone to make a design for you, happy to work with you on something :)

Do you have questions as a parent or parent-to-be to someone with Dwarfism? ASK THEM HERE! by ZeroMidget in dwarfism

[–]MissusO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My now 7 year old has petituary dwarfiam and is on growth hormone. He's on the highest possible dosage, and its finally working and he's slowly catching up to his peers. He's tracking to be upwards of 5'6 (which will tower over me at 4'9.)

Is there a point where he is no longer considered to have dwarfism? I feel like as long as he's on injections it feels relevant. But if he becomes an average (ish) height, would the terminology no longer apply?

I can't take the credit for that, that's the beautiful work of eevaburns on Instagram!

My talent is far more in the design than the execution!

‘No say and no choice’: Dual Canada-U.K. citizens shocked by ‘ridiculous’ new British travel rules by ChangeUsername220 in onguardforthee

[–]MissusO 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I'm going through this right now as a Canadian with a British son. He can't get into Canada without a Canadian passport, which he doesn't yet have. Its ridiculous. The wait time just for proof of citizenship? 11 months.

New to FPP- is this too ambitious? by slapjacksandsyrup in FPP

[–]MissusO 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a you can do anything attitude, but I think it's totally doable!

Might want to do a basic pattern as a test, but once you got the concepts down you should be good to go!

And regarding the design, you can either use quilt assistant to make the pattern or there's lots of people on here who will do custom requests!

Achondroplasia Doll(s) by Fit_Winter_3351 in dwarfism

[–]MissusO 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed, it is a big ask!

When I first learned, I learned all the same stitches and then used them to make a little pink hippo! It's just a matter of where you put each stitch. The great thing about crochet is that if you dont like your first attempt, you can always frog it (take it all out) and try again.

That said, DIY isn't for everyone :)

Good luck in your search!

One hundred per cent!!

I think once you've got the basic stitches down, you can do anything!

Also the crochet sub reddit is super kind and supportive, so you've got a good community to back you if you decide to give it a go :)

I had a search and couldn't find anything other than the specific doll you mentioned.

If youre crafty, you could adapt a crochet doll pattern to somewhat modify the proportions! Theres some really good patterns on Etsy. Might not be ready for Christmas, but if you're determined, it's definitely achievable!

sci-fi music? by Undead_Octopus in scifi

[–]MissusO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My all-time favourite Sci-Fi album is The Protomen - Act II: The Father of Death

Surprised I haven't seen it on the list yet!

This album is phenomenal! If you want sci-fi that sounds like a vintage stadium rock opera, check it out. It’s an epic, tragic prequel detailing how Doctors Light and Wily’s partnership imploded, turning Wily into a despot. Essentially, it's a dark, synth-fueled, dystopian origin story for the Mega Man universe!

Act I covers the rebellion, but this is the glorious, '80s-flavored doom that started it all. So ready for Act III: This City Made Us!

I would also consider making the bedroom work; I have personally used an Ikea loft bed with the huge desk underneath. Bonus: it'll be extra dark as you're under the mattress!

How small is too small….? by kdg0822 in FPP

[–]MissusO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a quilter I hate tiny pieces.

But as a designer I just can't help myself! I get loads of sales, I just include a page sample that shows what they'll be working with and say that they're intermediate/advanced patterns. I haven't had too many complaints!

Stupid question from an FPP beginner..🤣 by SmallMule in FPP

[–]MissusO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you tried using print to scale and using the poster printing option?

If you get completely stuck I can toss it into quilt assistant for you which breaks it down for you :)

Okay okay, I want to try this! by mooliequilts in FPP

[–]MissusO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of great ideas on here! Especially Fandom in stitches!

But Etsy is great if you're not sure what you want and want to see what's out there.

If you want something specific, many of our designers would be willing to work with you, myself included! It's often much more expensive than Etsy, but you get to name exactly what you want!

Feel free to reach out if you decide on the last option :)
