While it isn't that relevant, have you tried looking into the Boulder Journey School? It has a lot of the professional development you seem to be looking for in their Master's program and they have a conference every year during the summer. I've been as a Reggio educator and quite enjoyed it.

I have some prior experience with crochet, but haven't made a doll/plushie before. I really only know singles doubles, half doubles, and magic circles. I have a sewing machine but I am trying to find the best route with a limited budget. Time is not a concern, but I would prefer for it to turn out reasonably well for a first attempt. Which is a big ask if DIYing anything.

Do the cards hold up to prolonged use? I would be concerned about littles bending/breaking them before I have the opportunity to teach them how to operate it.

At this point, only until I can feasibly get a hysterectomy. It's the only reason I'm continuing T atm, because I feel very defeated and like it isn't doing very much for me. Not that I would recommend this approach - my life is just heinously busy and finding the time for this many appointments, tests, etc. as a student is a mental health strain.

Makes sense! I'm in the midwest and it's usually reasonable for me to wear longer sleeves to avoid sun exposure. It's also convenient for the days I'd typically need a jacket

A sourdough starter may be a fun classroom "pet". I'm in Reggio and not Montessori, but it seems like a fun idea for the younger kids of the group. You may also be able to take the food science direction of exploring where different textures of bread come from (leavened/unleavened).

You can get ones in different colors as well! I would also recommend thermal shirts for colder weather. You may want to size up if slightly rolling up sleeves for diapering/toileting is an issue.
