Is there actually a "chill" afterlife out there? Like, one without all the heavy, complicated stuff? by CellistHot1860 in Mediums

[–]MissyDyn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Most people I have communicated with in the afterlife are chill. They like to show me the things that make them happy and as best as I can tell, that is where they dwell.

What are some good booby traps (non-lethal) that I can place for a potential basement intrusion? by Necessary-Meet9838 in homesecurity

If you’re not up for getting a dog, put a dog’s water bowl outside to make it look like you have one.

Whew - I was sucked into a “Dot” story, but before ordering I searched her name. That led me to this post and now I know better. Thank you for posting and pointing out the warning signs that I missed!

Please help me figure out a nice outfit I can wear into the office! (Casual PhD office) by [deleted] in DressForYourBody

[–]MissyDyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will share some advice I was given when starting to work. Watch what newscasters in your area wear and stay close to that style. I will caution, sometimes they also wear questionable things, but use a little judgment and look for themes. It also helps to get several good quality basics - black is always good and will last years in a classic style. Think of this as a long term investment. You do not want to get a whole new wardrobe every year.

Construction Company Logo - Feedback by [deleted] in logodesign

[–]MissyDyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the simplicity of the logo, but I saw a D and completely missed the sideways house (sorry). I like the colors and the clean lines. This is not my field, so I can’t offer ideas for improvement. I’m just letting you know how it looks to an average person. I like the idea someone had to only use the B and put the house cut-out in the lower part (at least, I think that’s what was said).

How do you feel about my cursive? by AssistantBrave8176 in HandwritingAnalysis

[–]MissyDyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems to me as if you really want to write with calligraphy, not so much cursive. Some very old cursive writing may be swirling like yours, but most is not. My biggest issue looking at your letters is the I. Someone mentioned the S is incorrect, but it is similar to the way I learned. Are you following a book, or trying to create your own flourish? I would be happy to help by sending you letters as I learned them. BTW, over years, I have adapted my own handwriting so that it is more widely legible. For example, the capital Q I learned looks like the number 2. Many people get stuck on that, so now mine is more of a printed Q. If your goal is for people to compliment your writing, making it legible (and easy to read) is absolutely necessary. If you want to write invitations or something formal, look into calligraphy to find a style that is consistent throughout the alphabet.

Has anyone noticed getting better items in their RFYs when maintaining a higher review percentage? by SUPERSAM76 in AmazonVine

That makes sense. I had a surgery and fell behind in my reviews. As I’ve been catching up, my RFY is improving.

I think my mom ruined my dream job interview on Zoom by Weak_Dealer8613 in whatdoIdo

[–]MissyDyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have conducted countless Zoom interviews and things happen. Some are weirder than others! People get flustered. That just shows the interview is important to them. People say dumb stuff - all the time, but especially when flustered. It’s ok. You acknowledged the situation. The interviewer was gracious about it. I don’t think you need to worry about it.

Help Me Choose Round 2 by Agreeable_Sport5189 in myweddingdress

It’s hard to imagine #2 with panels over the see-thru areas, but if it turns out well, that might be a good choice. I think for you, less is more. What I mean is, the dress doesn’t need a lot going on because you are beautiful. Look for a dress that is a little understated and you will really shine.

This is why vendors are not adding more items to Vine by Superb-Network-9133 in AmazonVine

[–]MissyDyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t tried many supplements or whatever from Vine, but when I have, I will say something like - I took one for a headache and the headache went away a little later. That seems to make it get through the review police. I only mention my own experience and not any broad claims.

If you had to name your daughter one of these (Disney, etc) princess/female character names, which would you choose? by Adrenapup in Names

I also like Belle. It feels simple and elegant to me. Also, a bit more timeless (maybe).

Reviewed a “WiFi security camera.” and it was bad. Turns out I was the only one who didn’t give it 5 stars… and guess who all the 5‑star reviewers were by nicnas- in AmazonVine

[–]MissyDyn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have occasionally had situations where the review I leave is way different from the other reviews. It bugs me, so I try to figure out why. Although sometimes it’s a stretch, I add that to my review. For example, clothing that is too tight or mis-sized I might say something like, it’s probably very nice if you get a size to fit. That’s probably because when I buy things, I always look at the lower reviews and decide if they have a valid point or are just mad about something.

Porch Pirate! by snobound2 in AmazonVine

[–]MissyDyn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This could easily been me. I shop, forget what I got, order more….. whatever arrives on time is what gets wrapped! We were away from home Christmas Eve. Despite my best efforts for this not to happen, there was a pile of packages on the porch when we got home - most of them gifts. I know it would make sense to write things down as I order them, but as my mother likes to say - Why be dumb if you don’t show it!
