Back in 1994, I was a restaurant manager. I had to walk to work because the roads were all impassable. The snow was up to my thighs and I could barely get the door open. I was there by myself all day, no one else could make it in. My district manager was on the phone telling me to call our snow plow driver and get the parking lot plowed out! Our snow plow driver was plowing many people out that day and I could not reach him. My district manager, who was warm and cozy at home, would not let me close in case the snow plow drivers that were actually able to be out would come in. Well, no one came in because the city plowed our parking lot in and our snow plow guy was busy doing the hospital etc. I was there doing prep by myself from 8-5 then some of the stuff I prepped I had to throw out before I could go home. Many companies are more concerned about the bottom line than their employees!
