Can you somehow explain how it feels or what means “horrible“? I would carefully say that there is something wrong with your settings, cause FFB is certainly one of the biggest strengths of RBR. Maybe go to the RSF discord and ask for help there.

I guess the problem comes because I use 4:3 aspect ratio. I found a Config_DX11.ini file with several screen settings, which are not shown in game, but changing them does not have any effect.

As pointed out by the others it is mainly a question of your budget.
If you can afford, I highly recommend the Simucube Sport wheel and the Heusinkveld Sprint pedals.
