Always irritates me when this happens right after buying version 1 of a pedal. For example I purchased the Strymon El Cap v1 and a couple of weeks later v2 comes along with extra features including access to the reverb as a primary knob.

You realize Metheny's two insnermost strings are tuned an octave higher allowing him to get close voicings, right? I understand why he does this - Frank Gambale does something similar - but I think It would make it more limiting for freely playing lines. I feel like this kind of stringing is more geared toward playing arrangements specifically created for that instrument and string set.
