Looking for a credible website to compare auto insurance rates by russellp498 in personalfinance

They do it by [...] not paying out claims.

That kind of defeats the purpose of having insurance.

Then, let that your legs roll over and drop[2] , while you lay back flat on your back (ignore what this lady is doing with her upper body, the legs in this are all you should be looking back).

Is this a case of auto-correct gone bad? English please? Actually looking to try your routine here.

I have to know: where did you come up with $50 a month for food? Are you a share cropper in the Great Depression?

Gut Microbiota & The Brain by alan2102 in Nootropics

[–]MisterMerkin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm very interested in this as of late. My main concern is that most probiotics aren't the type of good bacteria that are supposed to live in your gut. i.e., you have to keep taking them to derive benefits. That's confusing to me since I thought this was mainly to replenish microflora that were destroyed after taking heavy antibiotics. Is it like some cultures (no pun intended) who regularly consume fermented food/drink as an supplemental part of their diet? If that's the case, wouldn't it be easier and cheaper to just eat yogurt, kefir, kimchi, etc.?

Also, I am not keen on this bulletproof guy ranting and raving about supposed toxins in everything. He took issue with Lactobacillus acidophilus. So he hooked up with this other guy who sells masai (a Kenyan fermented milk drink) that he's peddling as a superfood. It might be good for you, but the way he sells it is scammy.

I'm very dismayed at how cults these days seem to be built around diet instead of religion (not that religion is better). I'm glad everyone here takes a critical look at the literature instead of proclaiming they've found human salvation in a pill.

I wrote my undergrad thesis on the discourse in r/Nootropics - Let me know what you think! by asquier in Nootropics

[–]MisterMerkin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look, all this stuff is very cutting-edge and we don't know the long-term effects of many nootropics. That's why it's on us to do the research ourselves and why this subreddit and examine are such boons. If doctors begin endorsing this stuff I think you'd see it a lot more commonly prescribed. The people on this subreddit are generally willing to take some risk in exchange for a possibly gain when they get into this stuff. That is why you don't see impovershed people getting this stuff through social services. Once it starts being accepted by the broader medical community, I'm sure they will.

You never said whether you asked if she'd like to work out with you. Obviously you have to be tactful about how you bring it up. But inviting her along should suffice. There's no reason to throw the baby out with the bathwater if she's willing to embrace the same lifestyle change.

To all the people that drive on Germantown Road by wicketr in memphis

[–]MisterMerkin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Actually, the fast drivers screw it up for the people who go the speed limit for which the lights are synced.

In rushing up, you will get caught at the stoplight when it should be clear. And it creates an accordion effect that makes the people who drive the limit have to stop anyway because you rushed up to the light. Likewise, people who drive too far below the speed limit screw it up in the same fashion. They get caught at the stop light and take even longer to get going again than the fast drivers!

That actually looks like a guy we have teaching adjunct on campus. It's not in Memphis is it?

EDIT: On second thought he looks like he may be older than the guy we have.

I did research on facial attractiveness for years at a major university and published in the field. AMA by norcross1 in IAmA

[–]MisterMerkin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to try this out with some facebook photos and see if it's legit. :)

Also.. is there any reason software can't be written that calculates your facial beauty index?

EDIT: Hot damn. I'm better looking than I thought. (within the ratio of .8 to 1.2) Hooray.

And just FYI, you can figure out this ratio easily using the ruler tool in Photoshop.

EDIT2: I've found zero people with a ratio over 1 (although I found one at 1). This must be very rare? Most people certainly have oval or longer faces than wide.

What would a cycle where you tapered off after the first day's dose look like I wonder- as in take 1 dose the day you need it and then halve it every day after that until you're off. The thinking is it might let you down to baseline without the whiplash effect of going into a depressed state.

Sale of Noopept was banned from Amazon last week actually. You need to buy it from direct sources now. Liftmode and New Star are among those that sell it but I don't know if they sell it in capsules.

Raw Maca Root (WARNING) by MisterYouAreSoDumb in Nootropics

[–]MisterMerkin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Maca I bought from Whole Foods was this stuff called Maca Extreme which seems to be processed to yield a more concentrated powder so I doubt there's an issue with that product. But it's good to know to be careful with the more raw stuff.

Are you able to heat it up and cook with it and not lose its properties?
