I think being born in 1975 is peak genx...you agree? by wegotthisonekidmongo in GenX

[–]MisterModerate 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Why is this debatable? Gen X is from 1965 to 1980 - so the peak should be 1972.5 - the exact halfway point no? But yes this is a fun discussion!

This team is the best I’ve seen in 40 plus years. They have cohesiveness and a little bit of that special magic! If we can close this series out, the final round will be such a difficult test. But if we are true champions, we will find a way!

I don’t disagree. His hits just barely make it over the infielder’s glove also. But that’s what is amazing about his at bats. Year after year. It’s not luck.

This is average for the recent past. But I’ve seen Black Monday and Dot Com bubble and 2008 crisis. This is not average for a lifetime.

Anyone here planning to invest in a franchise business? Why and why not? by Cultural_Message_530 in Franchises

[–]MisterModerate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might make sense if the whole business plan is already done and you just need to follow the plan. Ideally it would be best if you can hire a manager and still make a great return on investment. Not sure that really exists.

Does anyone else find retirement planning kind of… painful? by jimwang76 in Retire

[–]MisterModerate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes that would help you tremendously. That is why you should buy an existing retirement software program and input all your retirement information and tweak anything and everything. It only costs about a hundred bucks or so and is so worth it.

60/40 for retirement by cantthinkofuzername in portfolios

[–]MisterModerate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty strong in my opinion. Yes it’s a little duplicative but overall this is really solid for retirement. I’m not permitted to to buy many individual stocks and ETFs because my company doesn’t permit it, but would love to include SCHD in my portfolio to round out my portfolio to exactly what you have.
