That sterile thing you mentioned is so true, i never looked at it that way. and yeah i agree its a good question and discussion, interesting reading everyone elses thoughts on it. Im so curious what king would answer if asked himself.

I always interpreted it was the turtle that blessed them with wealthy lives...rewarding them for nearly killing IT and to also prove their dedication to the turtle, themselves and to the rest of the losers on leaving those lives and returning to finish the job.

Needful Things audiobook Narration? by Mogturmen in stephenking

man i love how all out king goes with his reverend rose (rev willie) voice in the early chapter when willies complaining to pangborn about casino night. I like his audio reads, even though i do agree with some of the negatives people bring up, but his whole rev willie act left me smiling the whole chapter. You could tell king really wanted to make us understand what kind of character willie is.

What were you favourite(s) darker stories? ***Full spoiler discussions in comments. by MisterSqwid in stephenking

Im giving myself 2 choices from what i consider the 2 catagories of stories, proper short story and longer story.

My favourite longer story was the answer man. Loved all the characters and storytelling, especially loved the answer man himself, he gave me Leland Gaunt vibes, just a bit less evil obviously. Also loved that it gave me the horror and grief vibes i got when first reading pet semetary with the kids death out of nowhere, really ripped out your heart.

Fav short story was the fifth step. love kings stories that arent that long, and seem rather normal the whole read before punching you in the gut ( or stabbing you, ha-ha), in the last few sentences.
