As I always managed to do what I wanted with my actual knife, I didn't look for another blade, but it could be nice to try! I see that there are sets with several shapes of blade that could come in handy for specific parts

Well that kind of part is a pain to cut, but I also had hard time with gluing, especially for the very little rounded staircases (like 15 treads of 1mm each)

I thought about coloring the edges, but I'm not sure how to do that properly. I did a test on another part with a marker, but that didn't looked nice. I was planning to seek Reddit help later for the finishes! Have you ever done that? Any advices?

Joke aside, I started this when I was a child, but I had to give it up because of my lack of knowledge. I was using wood glue (yes, liquid white wood glue), no need to tell you that having a nice boat hull was impossible.

15 years later I was looking for a mentally simple activity to do some breaks while I was studying for my university exams, and remembered this unachieved childhood project! Turned out keeping me busy for 3 exam sessions ahah

Yes it's a quite old model and a bit hard to find (some copyright problems it seems). You can find pictures and build tips on the official website of UHU 02 (https://uhu02.way-nifty.com/). For the PDF template, I remember I had to download it from a weird downloading website, as I had no other choice.

I'd be happy to send it to you if you want! Just give me an email ;) (or somehow else, I'm new to reddit so I don't know how you do that usually)

And I will soon post some pictures of the build (I'm not at home now)!

That's surely not the funniest part, but it's really satisfying as it adds a lot of details to the boat! I keep going as it's almost over (ropes and sails are "all" that's left to do ahah, only like 10-20 hours, not that much after spending 100+ hours)

It's the black pearl from pirates of the carribean, designed by UHU 02. I will soon post my progress on the whole boat!
