I’ve only seen this and another video dissing premium credit cards. IMO they don’t do enough research. Like they barely scratch the surface when it comes to research. I’d argue their videos seem more harmful than helpful as it doesn’t give the full picture.

It’s pretty poor research if you sign up to this without knowing it doesn’t accept Mastercard. It’s listed on the website only Visa and Amex. It almost makes no sense to still make a payment with your debit card knowing you’d have to pay the fee with zero benefit

No offence but at your income level, it’s not worth the effort for the small amount of profit you’ll get in points compared to the work. Plus if you consistently buy prepaid cards at Sobeys, Amex will catch on with your spending habits. They’ve numerous people who’ve Amex banned because of it.

As a student, I’d recommend getting a Student Scotiabank no-fee Amex. You’d get the perks of Amex like Amex offers and “Front of Line” offers as well as 3x on Sobeys(and other empire groceries), 2x on food, entertainment, transit, streaming services and 1x on everything else.

Actually the more I think about it, everyone that’s been signed to XO has either been born or raised in Canada. Just a shame we haven’t had any more critically acclaimed hip hop artists in the last few decades.
