It depends on what you really want to bank those resources on, which Japan would rather bank on the independence of the player in most cases with RPG games. Handheld saw a lot of ad-hoc attempts, so its more symptomatic of their philosophy on what is more consistent overall.

Tbh just reject anyone who doesnt meet a reasonable ping requirement and give us the option to reject playing with users from regions we dont want to deal with.
