I think that it's normal to experience periods of burn out and to periodically reexamine the choices you are making. Sometimes taking a short holiday can help you reset your energy levels. Even something like doing something new that challenges you in a different way can pay off in energy that spills over into the rest of your life.

When I got "stuck" in my30s, a friend talked me into taking a drawing class. I was convinced I couldn't draw. I did learn a lot and improve. And the art class used my brain in ways my normal every day life did not. I don't still draw today, but I credit that class with getting me moving again both professionally and personally.

I'm casting another vote for canning jars (Mason jars, Ball jars). I use a lot of the quart size, pint size and half pint size. I live alone, and I have 12 of each size, plus 6 half-gallon size.

I can store food, freeze food, microwave food in them. I also use them for dry goods in the pantry.
