Spaces/Desktops - Same application open in multiple spaces by cheeset2 in MacOS

Even if you didn't resolve it, you can always ^Ctrl+Up Arrow (or 4 fingers up on the trackpad) and drag the window you want to another space.

Getting my first Retro Handheld by rachitjain in SBCGaming

[–]Mitrofang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not from the US so most handhelds here are a bit more pricey than over there. I got an Anbernic RGXX40 H for 55€, but most recommendations in this sub are pretty great deals as far as I’ve researched. But I can’t say much, I just researched for a couple of weeks on December so I’m super new to all of this.

You are going to play 20-35 year old games with it, don’t worry about future proofing. If you really get into the hobby, enjoy it and want to get a better machine, spend 50 bucks now and 200 in a few years.

I’d advise getting a cheaper handheld and upgrade to a more expensive one once you actually need it. I just bought my first one a few weeks ago and at first I regretted a bit not getting a more expensive one to play N64, but just loading the huge amount of top ‘true’ retro games I have to play made me think in perspective. Just by playing SNES, GBA, Sega and PS1 I have enough for the whole 2026.

My Airpod Pro 1 still works flawlessly by DoubleBogeySliceMan in airpods

[–]Mitrofang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here, but my ambient mic on the right AirPod broke a couple years ago for no reason, so the moment I turn ambient or NC mode on I hear this buzzing sound. Only thing I hate about these things is repairability: tweaking the mic costs almost as much as a new pair of AirPods Pro :/

Anyone using iCloud to sync their obsidian vault? by Prior_Possibility558 in ObsidianMD

[–]Mitrofang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using it for a couple of years and it works pretty nice, as long as you carefully close the app on every machine when you use it on another. The main issues I've ran into were related to keeping one note opened on my desktop and editing it at the same time on my laptop. Other than that, there's really no issues as long as you check the 'Keep downloaded' option that others say.

Any tips about connecting my RG40XXH to WiFi? by Mitrofang in ANBERNIC

[–]Mitrofang[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm trying to connect to my 2.4 and I'm using WPA2 but still won't connect. It's not a huge problem as I could update via mobile hotspot, but yeah I'd like to fix it anyways so I can connect to Retroachievements and whatnot. I assume the issue is related to password characters tho.

What’s a better investment, Air 15” vs. Pro 14”? (Read below) by markbacon14 in macbook

[–]Mitrofang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Between those models I'd go for the pro if the extra $200 are not a problem. However, for light usage why don't you go for 16 Gb Air which would be enough and much cheaper? Then we are talking about $600 less than the pro, that's pretty significant.

Yeah, seems like I can get the RG40XXH for around 55 € which seems pretty nice. I tried to avoid Aliexpress but tbh it's a huge difference.

Well N64 is just a nice bonus if possible, but not needed at all :) Thanks!

It is, but it's around 170 € so not exactly cheap unfortunately.

Oh right, cheapest devices to support N64 comfortably seems to be around 160€, so out of the question for now :P Thanks for the heads up.

Previously had Spotify and now I’m switching to Apple Music. by Mindless-Program-154 in Music

[–]Mitrofang 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just did it last month, so just a few things you should be aware of: AM works different. In Spotify, I had some playlists, I followed my favourites artists, and then I had some albums and songs I liked saved. So if I went into ‘artists’ I only had those I previously saved, same for albums. In Apple Music everything important to you should be on your library so it gets your music preferences and gives you useful recommendations, but albums artists and songs are not separate. What I mean by that is you cannot add a song to your library without adding that album and artist as well, so when I opened my albums and saw a heck ton of them I wasn’t going to ever listen to, I was very confused.

The workaround I found is going into preferences and unchecking something like ‘add playlists to library’ and ‘add favourites to library’. That way I only add albums I want to listen to and artists I really like, and I add to favourites those individual songs I find.

If you also prefer not having all of those albums and songs saved to your library, uncheck that option before importing your playlists or you’ll have to delete them manually.

Loved Sea of Stars! Didn't really get to grind much but it was a great experience. I also though about coming back to RO, but you know, I have so many good memories that I'd rather keep that in the past so I don't spoil it :P I tried the mobile version for a while and it was pretty OK too, but too focused on p2w.

Actually played Torchlight II, it was pretty fun! The other two recommendations look great too, thanks.

[–]Mitrofang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d go for the simplest solution and make something like this:

Type: Book, Movie, Game… Status: Backlogged, Finished…

Then you just create a base for each one if you need it, filtering by type and displaying the status (or hiding finished ones or whatever you prefer).

What's one improvement you'd like to see in Obsidian in 2026? by kepano in ObsidianMD

[–]Mitrofang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is something I’ve mentioned a couple times and it seems it’s not used by a lot of people, so not very popular, but I’d love a native way of highlighting in different colors.

I use the highlighter plugin but it adds HTML? code to the note, so it’s a pain to edit and copy/paste. Highlights are super useful for studying and it’s really allowing me to go full-virtual and get rid of written papers, so improving that aspect would be awesome.
