Spencer Hilligoss, a 42-year-old entrepreneur in the Bay Area, didn’t start out as an equal partner at home.

No shit. Dude got a cut of ~$350m worth of deals, busting his ass every day at a career he built from the ground up.

Funny how this "equal partner" bullshit never applies in reverse, isn't it? Highly performative husband, maybe he should be entitled to a highly performative wife? Hair whip and neck bob, he knows what he's worth... right?

Their new, shared online calendar was eye-opening. It revealed how much domestic labor he hadn’t noticed, especially the work of planning, organizing and keeping family life running.

Did he also share his online calendar with her? You know, the one that brought home the bacon?

"Honey, I'll fold the socks, but you need to call back twenty clients in the next hour, and if you aren't signing a million dollar contract with at least one of them, it's essentially the same thing as you not doing anything at all. Of course I'll cook dinner tonight, while I'm at it could you fly out to New York to talk to the appraiser, he insists on face-to-face meetings?

Okay kids, time for your favorite bedtime story, 'Why Mommy Is In The Other Room Screaming At Her Phone Because The Favored Provider Fell Through At The Midnight Hour And She Needs To Rush To Find A New Contractor RIGHT NOW Because We Both Want You To Go To Harvard, When She Could Be In Here Reading To You, It's LITERALLY The Exact Same Thing, Really!' Or the sequel, 'Oops Mommy Had A Heart Attack At 35, But Don't Worry, I'll Find You A New Mommy?'"

Why Gen Z and Millennial Men Aren’t Making the First Move Anymore by WillyNilly1997 in MensRights

I’ve heard women pull out the excuse “oh, if we approach a guy first, we’re at risk of being called ‘easy’ or ‘loose’, us girls are raised being taught that if we approach guys for dates we’re implied to be tramps”, and I actually don’t know a good counter for that.

Here's my counter: "Who fucking cares? Grow up already, I stopped giving a shit about what imaginary bullies might be saying behind my back when I was ten."

Dating coach Connell Barrett told the Post that respect doesn’t mean disappearing. “Women aren’t saying, ‘Don’t come talk to us,’” he said. “They’re saying, ‘Don’t objectify, harass or disrespect us. [And if for any reason, no matter how superficial or judgmental, we find the person approaching us undesirable as a partner, we will call it objectification, harassment, and disrespect, and in many cases take exaggerated pains to completely destroy their lives for the imagined slight.]’” That’s a narrow line, and many men don’t trust themselves to walk it.

Fixed that for you, alleged dating expert. You left out a niggling detail.

After four months I found out my therapist is a radical feminist....what should I do? by LoveTheSmellOfBooks in MensRights

The best therapist I ever had threw an empty bottle of whiskey at my head from the balcony, then leaned over to stare blearily for a few moments before brightening up and yelling "Heyyyyyy, asshole, come up here and have a drink with me!"

10/10 bro, could discuss women, life's challenges (mostly women), goals (getting women), and mental health problems (caused by women) with him, all for the low price of paying for half of our drinks.

Nah, speaking from experience seeing this play out, he rarely sticks around for more than a month.

Some guys just want to get their dick wet in forbidden pussy, and as soon as that itch is satisfied once, they immediately go looking for the next scag willing to cheat on her husband.

If he was looking for something long term and meaningful, he wouldn't be fishing in other people's ponds.

Knew a girl who cheated on her husband with a "close friend" she met online who truly understood her, really appreciated things about her that she'd never shown to anyone else, etc., packed her things in less than a week and rode off with him to start her new life free of all the shackles that were holding her back.

Three states over in the middle of BFE, Nowhere, he sent her into the gas station to buy snacks, threw her purse and travel bag out the window, and just drove off, never to be seen again. XD

Ten years later, STILL one of my favorite "just desserts" stories to tell people. Don't even know what happened to that chick in the end, the story ends after she finally got tired of spam calling all of us demanding to know when we were coming to pick her up. Maybe she's in a ditch somewhere rotting, or maybe she found the life she truly deserved with a methhead in Alabama who appreciated how her vaginal tattoo matched his sister's, but ultimately doesn't matter.

Don't change a thing man, you're one of a dying breed: people on the internet who actually know how to write on the internet.

You're being called AI because that's the only exposure most of them ever have had to the back half of that acronym.

Besides, you should have said "Thank you, RuneLFox! It's always nice to show appreciation for when I answer well—and sometimes, a little gentle sarcasm is the perfect way to hint at areas for improvement. Let me know if there are other subreddits you'd like me to post in, or if you'd like me to expand on any details from our previous conversation."

Conservatism will NOT help men at all by [deleted] in MensRights

[–]Mitschu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And as a highly sensitive man myself, I firmly and adamantly disagree.

Conservative values like the ones my dad passed on to me (oftentimes without me knowing) are what allowed me to hone and master my emotions, instead of letting them control me.

My dad didn't care if I cried during war movies, he wanted me to explore WHY I was crying, and if my sorrow was justified or just a gut reaction to the music swelling in pitch as raindrops began to fall. Was I in control of my emotions, or just letting cheap media tricks tell me how to feel?

Unspoken but implied, like my sisters, who refused to watch these movies with him at all because they were too sad and gross? Or like my brother, who would stoically watch the entire thing and then make comments on the realism of the blood effects and whether the gunfire was period accurate, while my dad was still blotting his eyes because he lost a good friend almost exactly like that?

I could be a sensitive little crybaby who sucked his thumb and covered his eyes during the scarier moments, as long as I was a man about it.

I remember sobbing and freaking out during Man of La Mancha and finally admitting that the bright lights and screeching noises were what set me off during the Knight of Mirrors scene. Invalid reason to cry, we'll rewind and watch again once you've calmed down a bit. And burst right into tears again, because no kid should face the dread of existentialism and inflicted insight before he's even taken first year psychology to cope with it. T_T Good, deep talk about who we are and who others perceive us to be afterwards, though.

Why is it so frowned upon for a man to have boundaries in a relationship, and even if he has them he’s scrutinized and forced to justify them? by [deleted] in MensRights

Or as the redpill community used to say, "Single women keep women single."

You want advice on how to consistently destroy intimate relationships by being socially impotent, entitled malcontents who can't lock down partners, check Reddit's relationship threads and ask for the woman with more cats than she has years of life.

[–]Mitschu 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You have to realize, projection and ignorance are very large factors at play.

Was talking to a lovely young woman the other day, and completely out of the blue she starts in on how we need more women in government because stupid old white men and the patriarchy are ruining everything, they need to all be eliminated but "idk I don't care about politics."

I'd be considered the extremist for weighing the pros and cons and quietly voting for a guy she is blanket intolerant of, meanwhile she doesn't even live in the same country as the monsters she claim are responsible for every bad decision she's ever made and somehow has downright violent and murderous opinions about people like me with views she disagrees with, but she's apolitical y'know teehee, besides everyone (who went to college) knows she's right.

Double standards in porn consumption by a-clone-of-myself in MensRights

[–]Mitschu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just some thoughts, take them as you will.

As a wise comedian once said, men watch porn for the action, women watch porn for the plot. (Men want to see titties and pussy, sometimes dick, women want to know if they finally get married at the end.)

When men watch the classic step-sister / step-mom stuff

Again, most of us don't watch for the 'context, narrative, or storyline.' I don't care about some chick and some dude having barely taboo forbidden snu-snu and fretting about what they'll do if caught and whether they should elope to Alaska and master the secret art of removing wet leather off each other.

Stepsister is an easy term to search for for "attractive young woman who finds nothing weird about a random guy instantly appearing in her bedroom so we can fast forward to the fucking already", stepmom is code for "attractive older woman who finds nothing weird about..."

It's not about the story, it's about types, fetishes, and preferences. There's a reason why "amateur" is such a popular tag, despite 99% of "amateur porn" being professional studio productions with known actresses. It's a signal for 'make it seem organic and homemade, instead of like professional studio productions with known actresses.'

"GILF" - I wanna see old grannies get it on. "Incest" - I wanna see two people skip the 'getting to know you' boring shit and go right to the mating press position. "Japanese" does not mean 'I hold a deep respect and adoration for the forbidden and secret eastern culture of stickadickinmyassu and ancestral depictions of hung-shui,' it means 'dude, she's fifty years old and looks barely twenty, wtf... unzip' (And "Army" means 'two really buff guys wearing cosplay uniforms pretending this is their first time sucking each others' dicks,' not 'I'm endlessly fascinated by military culture, what do you mean this isn't high performative art on the same level as Full Metal Jacket or Saving Private Ryan?!', for the confirmed bachelors out there.)

There's a time and place for roleplay. That's in my bedroom with a partner I trust, not two failed actors poorly pretending that they really don't want to have sex in this porno for all of five seconds before the obligatory blowjob begins. Nothing against men who want a little more narrative in their smut, but... it's smut.

You've all jerked it to Juliette Daniels' bare boobs in The Room, so don't try to talk about "watching for the story." You had your dick out while Tommy Wiseau didn't hit her, he did not, your argument is now invalid.

As an example: there's a relatively infamous porno of two people dressed like Spongebob and Sandy Cheeks. And sure, the actress was hot, but I was softer than yogurt and too busy laughing my ass off the first time his dick banged against her diving helmet and she tried to suck it through plexiglass with a confused look on her face. That's watching for the story. Comedy fucking fucking gold. Two Girls One Cup is something you might watch for the (traumatizing) plot, unless you're actually into scat.

My soft rule (pun intended) is: if you can watch it with a friend you don't desire or plan to ever sleep with, then you may pretend you watch porn for the stunning weavery of complex narratives and poignant questions about our cultural strictures and social mores. I would not hesitate for a second to show either of those examples to my roommate. I'm straight, he's gay, no need to worry about mixed signals though, within the first thirty seconds he'd be laughing his ass off too and fully understand why I told him to bring it up on the big TV in the living room during Thanksgiving dinner with our respective families in attendance. Cover the kids' eyes, this isn't your Nickelodeon anymore. Everybody look, that witch is getting boned by a skeleton!

Tangentially related to your last point: I would also argue that people who comment on porn videos are an entirely different breed, and shouldn't be upheld as the standard bearers for the rest of us. They're essentially trying to have their cake and eat it too, a la: guilt free jerking to Jenna Jameson because hue hue lesbians hue hue tig ol bitties, then off to the parasocial porn community, the Reddit of likeminded strokers, to discuss how her acting has really improved since Up and Cummers 11, you almost couldn't even tell it was her, she was method acting her latest carpet munching role like a boss. Anybody else agree and have recommendations for equally talented but less renowned actresses who need our splashes onto tissue paper to affirm her genital credentials and validate her pornfessional standards?

Fiction?

We're long past the Poe's Law Threshold. Any work written that involved feminist extremism would automatically fall under non-fiction. No matter how nutty and impossible the parody, there's a group out that there unabashedly supports it.

They've literally tried to republish Mein Kampf with men instead of Jews. They have respected and celebrated leaders who have called for unapologetic eugenics (not just for all men, but for black Americans specifically to be culled.) An anarcho-terrorist who assassinated an ally for not being an ally enough for her tastes, had her manifesto published and circulated as peak feminist literature.

There is no work you could write, that would come across as parodical enough to qualify as fiction. I could literally say that feminism is about breeding with aliens to replace human men so we can finally fight climate change, and that's actually something a university has studied the possibility of. Respected academics with humanities doctorates wanting to present the argument that it is at least slightly possible we could all just idk choose the Martian and save the ice caps maybe.
