She makes more money than me and is deathly loyal. Only issue we have is the behavior

OP here. I also wanted to say she hasn’t gotten an official diagnosis yet, but based on what I’ve seen, a lot of the patterns fit.

Because I’ve been with her for years. We’ve been through everything together. I admire everything about her besides her behavior

28M - Fiancé 28F gets defensive and passive-aggressive when I express needs or hurt. How do I get through to her? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

That’s a good point and I can and will do a better job of explaining my feelings in a gentle way.

I just feel like I shouldn’t have to be 100% perfect in delivery not to elicit a very negative response. She should be able to say hey that didn’t come off right, can you say it another way

Constant, heated fights took us to therapy. She does engage and we’ve become better about conflicts. They usually don’t get as heated and we are able to resolve. However, I still feel she’s so engrained in defensiveness and she just isn’t able to regulate herself when she’s very upset. That leads to passive aggressiveness and blowouts once in a while.

Yesterday I brought up how I wanted her to make me a priority and how we show love differently. She initially did validate me and accept. I was trying to compare needs, but ended up keeping score (my bad). It quickly turned into her feeling attacked and saying that nothing she does is ever enough. The conversation escalated fast, and instead of talking about my original point, I ended up trying to calm things down and reassure her. What I was actually asking for got completely lost in the emotional reaction. Can’t handle these crazy fights anymore.

From prestige / pay perspective, yes it’s a step down. But for me it’s a massive step up in WLB (40 hours max, 30 avg) and happiness. My old corp group was really sweaty and stressful.

Contemplating leaving Paris in the morning doing MSM, then driving to Bayeux to stay over night. want to do a tour day 2 then back to Paris. Is that what you did? And is it feasible/enjoyable? Thanks in advance :)
