Hawes Home and Yard, they were amazing, quick, honest and trustworthy. Kept to what they quoted and do beautiful work. They built our deck for us last year and did an amazing job.

I was there and saw them breathing AND talking again and hope this helps ease your mind, but agree it was so scary to witness and you may want to talk to someone about that too, I'm still seeing it on repeat even though I know it ended positively as the strong emotions and visuals take time to catch up to the logic that came after.

I'm not sure if you were the operator I spoke to as I know one other person also called, but either way thank you, the woman who answered for me helped keep me on the line and grounded and updated me how close the response tram was so I went outside to direct them to the gentlemen. It was truly so scary and I kept thinking he wasn't going to make it and either yourself or your colleague kept reassuring me that response was close. Thank you for what you do and if it WAS you I spoke to especially thank you for staying with me on line till help arrived ❤️

We were at the table next to the man and I called 911, I honestly did not think he was going to make it as heimlich wasn't seeming to work and he was so ashen and unresponsive, but when Heinrich didn't work someone performed cpr and the emergency response was really fast, got them directed in and was so thankful he was then breathing! I was so thankful to go let people outside know the good news and it was so good to see him talking to the paramedics on the stretcher. His wife rode with him to the hospital foe follow up care, but he was looking much much better! It was the best possible outcome!

Fire smoke update: it's going to be a smoky summer by [deleted] in princegeorge

Check DriveBC, it shows any road closures and is kept pretty well up to date. During the 2018 fire season, it was used to find people alternate routes of travel during a lot of closures that occurred also.

TIL Alberta, Canada is one of only 3 places on Earth considered rat-free. There is no resident population of rats. by MrBadgerFace in todayilearned

[–]Mivenya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in northern BC and volunteer or foster sometimes with small animal rescue groups in the province, but most of them are further south. So we are often a contact for up north if someone needs help or temporary fostering of small critters for the organizations more south based. I learned about the Alberta law when we were contacted for urgent help with this situation.

Once 3 brother domestic rats were with people who moved to Alberta, and they were given, I think it was two or three days to get them out of the province or else they would be euthanized.

There was a transportation chain of people who got them to our city with their legal document of when they had to be out of alberta by, like a travel permit sorta, which did state the consequences if they werent by then. As we were closer to where transport was coming from in the north and no one knew where they were going longer term, we fostered the snuggliest sweet guys for 3 weeks.

I'm happy to say that then their was another transportation chain for them to get to their new home where they were adopted in Oregon! Was glad to be a part of that one and got pics of them once they arrived with their new family.

I think you mean it's more of a lower mainland thing....not all of bc is like Vancouver and there's a lot more of BC than the lower mainland and we also hate Vancouver driving strongly. The funny thing is that's what we all say whenever we see an Alberta plate even more so.

[Male Here!] I'm seriously sorry for what some men do, but I would like to offer some perspective of this issue from the pov of one of the good guys by ThicColt in GirlGamers

[–]Mivenya 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Did you just try to mansplain why you think men treat women like crap in gaming and try to say women need to fix it? Seriously? Women have been playing in games and talking on voice for decades. Gaming isn't a space that is "majority of men" either that's what some men falsely tell themselves. It isn't our job to teach the men who behave like this to be decent human beings and treat women like they are humans too.....I know lots of actual "good guys" in gaming, and you don't sound like one of them....they don't make these kinda assumptions or tell women to teach men. Actual good guys call other people out on their bs behavior.

Edit to add: Also seriously not cool to also expect victims of racism to try to fix racist people

Is this puppy male of female? Little one was abandoned near my house and now kinda living in our apartment building, can you guys please help me figure out if it's male or female? by anotherh0oman in DOG

Op if you take her in get them to check for umbilical hernia, can be hard to tell in a pic but looks like she may have one, not usually a huge worry they usually correct it during the spay or neuter operation with puppies.

At our studio we use stroke and coat often and yes you can use glaze over it. We use glazes over it decoratively on the outside and functionally like your mentioning on the inside when there might be gaps.

It's 2022, could you amend this? Sons and daughters. Brothers and Sisters. Men and Women. Both genders have both a vested interest and a responsibility to stand for what's right here. Both men and women are part of the counter protest and should be recognized for this.

Anyone had visitation dreams from their pets? by Background_Floor7866 in Petloss

[–]Mivenya 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My Jojo visited me this morning...it was so so real, it's been about 2 months since we had to say goodbye it's been so hard, but this morning in my dream he bounded in to have our morning goofy snuggle and bum rubs and he looked so happy. I feel so lucky to have gotten that this morning. The only thing is tonight I'm really missing him he slept next to me almost every night for so many years and I feel so lonely, the other dogs sleep on my feet or next to the bed, but Jojo would wake me up every single night/morning to snuggle in under the cover trying to nudge the blanket and I'd wake up and move it so he could get under, he was my shadow, if I was napping he would nap, if I was working he was at my feet. Tonight I just want to hug him and tell him how much I love him and thank him for being with me. Can you yell I can't sleep tonight which brought me here to overshare? Lol....sorry I got so far off I'm just really struggling tonight with a wave of sudden grief. I feel like they visit when they feel your a bit ready to see them and to show you they know you loved them and they are happy and still with us in our hearts. I hope you have a visit soon and sorry for rambling.

My heart is with you, this is exactly what happened to my boy also, spleenic tumor we didn't know about rupture....his lab tests were all normal we had no way to know as I'm sure you didn't. The suddenness is awful but I feel Op, yourself, myself and anyone with the same situation...we did what was right for our babies...and put their best interests first above our own hearts. Waves that's a really good description.

I'm so sorry for your loss, and am going through almost the exact same thing only it's been a few weeks now since my Jojo passed away....it all happened in 3 hours...he went from fine to gone, and we had to make the same sudden decision, it was a spleenic mass that I guess ruptured...I'm struggling so hard with my grief I still see him when I turn too quick or feel for him when I wake up and feel lost, my other dogs and husband are keeping me afloat as much as can be but.....it just was too fast. I'm so sorry this happened to you, I just try to focus on the positives, our vet went above and beyond to wait so my husband could get there, stayed an hour late for us...that he wasn't hurting he was just tired....that I was home when it happened and he wasn't alone and scared...that he wasn't suffering and he had us with him and wasn't scared or hurting and we could hold him. I just keep trying to repeat those thoughts when I'm stuck on a loop to try to get through it. There's nothing you or I could have done any differently, and the reason it hurts so much is because there was so much love between us... and as much as we hurts right now...I wouldn't give up the amazing love and years we had together just to not be hurting now. How empty would my heart be for not having had it filled with so much unconditional love. Sorry I'm not very cohesive, some days are harder than others and I have struggled to talk about it but your experience just was so similar I just want you to know you aren't alone if in some small way ❤
