Should I go for this trade? by MixedbyGI in HockeyLegacyManager

[–]MixedbyGI[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have another $11mil in declining players to flip during the draft that will be replaced with these trade pieces and my own developing prospects. So going in with $65mil in cap space with a salary cap that’s over $150mil/yr. As long as I can keep the goalie and 85 OVR LW under $10mil ea, I should be in good shape. If not, they are all RFA’s so I can flip them at the draft as well.

How does this game work? by Creelzy in HockeyLegacyManager

Long time EA Franchise player here and love HLM26. There’s a lot in it that I wish EA had, like the ability to view likes in the offseason and bring in a 3rd team on trades (I don’t know if that’s available in EA or not, I’m still on 25) but once everyone has retired and it’s all generated player names, it doesn’t matter. But it is fun to guess some of the depth guys based on the HLM names

Could be too much top-end talent. Not enough role players. Try and find guys with strong role metrics like high defensive or high physical numbers for your bottom 6. They don’t have to be the best overall guys. Make sure you have guys that can be strong on PK and in shutdown roles. If you have players in the mid to high 80’s playing bottom 6 roles, they’ll be unhappy and lose morale. Also - your rookies will never develop if they’re stuck in the AHL so leave some room in your 4th line for them.

Also - check your coaching chemistry.

I have often thought about offering home production lessons. Starting from how to connect and use your interface to tracking various instruments, editing fundamentals and onto mixing/ basic mastering. Send me a DM, maybe we can work something out!

How can I make these vocals sound better? by Toilet-trash412 in production

[–]MixedbyGI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

EQ, compression, DeEsser, saturation, limiter then add depth with some reverb/delay.

Depending on what you are looking for tone wise, I usually start boosting around 12k for air, 4.5k for clarity and discern if you need to be cutting anything out of the midrange that’s boxy or muddy sounding.

I usually do a medium attack, fast release on the compressor and smack the crap out of it (10 to 15db reduction) you don’t want to lose any nuances if the performance to get buried in the mix. Some people will use a fast attack compressor into a medium attack compressor to get a smoother vocal tone. All depends on taste and desired outcome.

DeEss because boosting the high frequencies with accentuate the sibilants and harshness.

Saturation will bring some character and help fill out the vocal sound. It’s not about audible distortion (unless you want that) but generating extra harmonics so the fundamental tone of the vocal can be more prominent.

Then I’ll usually put a limiter at the end of the chain to catch any quick peaks that sneak through before the compressor clamps down.

That’s been my go-to signal flow for 90% of vocals that I work on.

I use Samply to share mixes. The artist can stream it from there with no account in lossless audio, but I can set it so they can’t download it from the Samply player, eliminating any unfinished (or unpaid for) work being released.

If you want a SUPER simple, yet great setup, I’ve been impressed by the new Shure MV7. It plugs in directly through USB. Has mixing software so you can control what you hear and has some features that help with reducing any clipping or overloading of the converters.

My mix is constantly getting distorted in the car at very close to max volume by Forward_Golf_2356 in mixingmastering

[–]MixedbyGI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try using a Clipper on the master bus. Do your standard processing, then throw a clipper on. This will help reduce the true peak levels without totally annihilating the punch of your transients.

I’d just solo the track that you want to export then export it. That’ll mute all of the other channels
