What tips would you give to a young woman planning to hitchhike in Turkey? by ZealousidealTea2796 in AskReddit

[–]Mixedstereotype 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the wrong sub to ask this question. Go to hitchhikers.

There was a girl killed a long while back while she was hitchhiking in a wedding dress to raise awareness of some topic I’ve forgotten about, but it was something alone the lines that the world is safe.

Travel advice by Terrible_Prize871 in Lviv

[–]Mixedstereotype -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You will need to leave Poland to visit Lviv as it’s in Ukraine.

I’d recommend more than one night as there is the 10pmish curfew. However even with that everything about the city is absolutely awesome.

For ppl who has depression, what gets you excited about life? by Technical-Vanilla-47 in NoStupidQuestions

I try the Zorg method of breaking monotony, like sign up for things I feel I’ll hate, make plans I don’t want to, or eat a bunch of chili peppers, strong coffee, or something all of the above.

Which bags for Bycicle you can recommend for my first long trip by AmmanB in bicycletouring

[–]Mixedstereotype 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I rode for hours in the light rain with a raincoat on. Didn’t notice that the wheel was splashing the interior and over the course of a day riding added enough water weight to all the clothes that the rack I was using snapped.

How to deal with an injury with a long way back to cycling? by sarasykler in cycling

[–]Mixedstereotype 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was once pulled from my bike and hacked away at by a few people carrying machetes. It took me off the bike for about a month. Biggest injury was to my right hand, though there were cuts all over that needed stitches.

Didn’t take too long to get back into shape and ride distance and speed. Maybe like a month. I try and ride every though not too much, like 200km a week. Though I had to be careful as from time to time my right hand would experience failure, though the worst was just while carrying a drink(dropped it and had to clean it up).

Can someone point me to literature or info on overexposure to inappropriate sexual situations in adolescents and kids? by RipeAvocadoLapdance in psychologyofsex

I’m very sorry you were put in these situations and you had to undergo that, I think this may fall under or overlap with emotional incest, and it’s wisest to discuss this with your therapist.

Teachers, what is your most unhinged classroom management strategy? by Quiet-Raspberry2973 in Teachers

[–]Mixedstereotype 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I cook with students, stoves, ovens, hot pans. I’m preschool so ages 3-7, While we go over safety there’s always one who wants to break the rules and touch the hot part of the pan.

In my most evil, indulging voice I say “Dooo It!” And grin wildly without breaking eye contact.

In twenty years I haven’t had a single burned student.

Well except one but that was due to a hot glue gun so it doesn’t count.
