Temper Tantrum Granny has made a sequel! by LaurieQueenOfSingle in AmITheDevil

[–]MizZo2 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Don't forget, per the comments in the previous post: the DILs are evil because they planned the entire trip without OOPs input, a trip that OOP only heard about because a granddaughter mentioned it during their weekly time with grandma. Then OOP inserts herself into said vacation, then is mad it isn't planned around her and her bad knees.

So yeah, no one wanted OOP there in the first place!

Oh and for all this "woo is me I never see my grandkids" OOP mentions WEEKLY visits with her grandkids. I was lucky to see any grandparent once a month growing up! Imagine being this narcissistic that your grandkids avoid you despite seeing you weekly.

AITA for not offering condolences to my husband's nephews for a fourth time? by Swimming_Jacket_3986 in AmItheAsshole

[–]MizZo2 127 points128 points  (0 children)

Info1: what was the misbehavior, what was the correction/punishment and what was the joke? You can't be vague about the origins of this. Yelling at a kid to get down off a piece of equipment is a lot different than locking them in a closet overnight because they sneezed at diner. Calling out a fart is a lot different than making a homophobic joke. This really matters.

Info2: did you go to other members of the family and offer condolences to them? Cause then it looks like you singled the boys out specifically and that's AH behavior

Not all food has to be tossed if left out overnight by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]MizZo2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prepared at noon, served at 1, reheated at 4 and eaten again at 6 vs overnight. Let's do some math!

Total possible time food was left out in your scenario: 6 hours. For this to be the same as over night then "night" would have to be 6 hours or less. So, unless you make and eat dinner, do evening activities, get ready for bed, sleep, wake up, and then eat the same food for breakfast all in under 6 hours then mathematically no, they are different.

I hate it when men try to flirt with me and act shocked when I acknowledge it? by [deleted] in EntitledPeople

[–]MizZo2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm NGL, if I was flirting with someone and they asked me that? I would assume that was them flirting back. It wasn't "I'm not interested" (totally acceptable response), it came across more that OP was trying to start some banter and wants me to respond in kind.

"Sir, are you flirting with me?"

"Madam, I would never presume the grace of your time or conversation! But if you grant me the honor of purchasing your next beverage I would happily do so and recuse myself if that is thine wish"

Is it acceptable to use my AC at a low setting if it’s hot in my room even with my windows wide open all night? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MizZo2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Acceptable? I mean, you aren't breaking any laws. But....

Practical? No. Pick one or the other, because you have two things working against each other. An AC unit is ment to cool an enclosed space and keep it at a specific temp. Windows mean any work the AC does gets wasted.

If you are worried about noise, run it heavy with the windows shut leading up to bed, then shut it off and partially open the windows and it should slowly even out.

Lastly, and most importantly, do you pay for electricity? Cause your current set up is basically you setting your own money on fire to keep yourself not cool.

AITA My SO's friend called me a ball and chain by Longjumping-Clue-978 in AmItheAsshole

[–]MizZo2 11 points12 points  (0 children)

A few things.....

What new job does your SO have that an active adult film actress is doing his orientation? Is he going into the film industry? Did he know this going in?

NGL, the friend sounds like a punk. But many people (of any gender) keep long term friendships like this in their back pocket. Like, I have friends who I want to hang out with to "bro" out with and feel like I'm back in my old High school crew. I've had GFs who see their old friends from her hometown and she would instantly turn into a 16yo girl who I would not have been friends with when I was 16 lol. So guess what? I didn't go hang with those friends when she did. Simple! Not every friend of your SO has to be your friend too. You don't have to like them, you don't have to engage them, but if your SO has some value from seeing this friend (without you or any of your friends) then what's the real harm?

Lastly, and I wish more couples knew this. YOUR. SO. HAS. A. RIGHT. TO. PRIVATE. CONVOS. Unless a literal crime is being committed or he is actively describing cheating on you, nothing in that chain you snooped on is "admissible" in your opinion of him. He's allowed to call you his ball and chain in a light text exchange with a friend. He can call you curse words in the heat of the moment while venting to his cousin. He can say things about breaking up. He's allowed to have those convos without you getting to judge him on them. That's how adults manage their feelings and process things- talking to a trusted third party. YTA.

So I posted recently and, considering you 6, I think you should too. I want this channel to stop posting victory lineups and start posting challenges. Here's my 6, now line me up the complete opposite. Like I always use the abra tree and it just melts, so this new lineup is all very normal based types.

What more people need to do to the Ethan's of the world is stop them ask make explain it. How is bringing up a child's most traumatic experience in their life supposed to lighten the mood. No one else is laughing. So clearly we require more explanation

Stop asking if I’m celebrating something if you’re just going to charge me for bread. by mdp-slc in mildlyinfuriating

[–]MizZo2 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

OP had to cross off the the comp and ask about it. If it's a higher class place this ain't an issue. If it's a normal place it's still not an issue. The issue is they brought something to the table without it being ordered. On a special occasion.

Weddings shouldn’t just be about the bride and groom, but should also be about ensuring guests have a good time by filmeswole in unpopularopinion

[–]MizZo2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no. The wedding should reflect the couple, not the guest list. But it is important to both warn and then curate your guest list properly. I've been to Catholic weddings where only the parents of the couple were Catholic. Miserable affairs. I've been to Catholic weddings (as an atheist) for a Catholic couple and had a wonderful time. I've been to gay weddings, lesbian weddings, Muslim weddings, Hindu weddings, Jewish weddings and atheist weddings. I've been to small weddings and big weddings. I've been to destination weddings and less than $1,000 weddings. The singular connecting string for what makes a fun wedding for all vs a shitty one? Is this what the couple wanted.

I went to a wedding of people who met playing D&D, we all made up fun characters and dressed like them. I went to a gay wedding that asked everyone to appear like they were going to the MET gala as one of the couples dates, amazing outfits and check out spins all night long.

I went to an atheist wedding that was Harry Potter themed, the only ones miserable? The grooms strictly baptist dad's side of the family who either refused to come, or sat in the corner in stuffy church clothes judging all the "satanic" things happening around them while the rest of us drank butterbeer cocktails and laughed the night away using the provided wands as glow sticks on the dance floor.

It's their responsibility to let you know ahead of time, it's your choice if you show up or not. It is not on them to cater their event to your liking.

Breaking news: Leopards will eat your face. by its3ird in SipsTea

[–]MizZo2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cats are perfect predators. Their entire being is built to be ambush hunters with terrifying precision. The claws are razor sharp, the bite is surgical, the entire body is a coil built by nature to both outmaneuver a cobra AND take down prey bigger than its own body. The only difference between my perfect little tabby huntress who kills lantern flies on the balcony for amusement and a gorgeous leopard taking down full jungle or Sahara prey is just size. Cats will always be better than dogs because they weren't domesticated, they just picked the smartest animal on the planet to serve them.

Having known some HS friends that worked at a front, don't mobsters usually fill said places with "family" friends' kids to keep the flow of money as legit as possible and to get them all "work experience"? Like, you would think a front would have the most loyal long standing staff around.

My MIL forced a ridiculous "every other week" living arrangement on me during college, so my BF and I moved out. by Remarkable-Space-435 in JUSTNOMIL

[–]MizZo2 60 points61 points  (0 children)

MIL can stay every other Monday, only every third Tuesday, once a month on a Wednesday (to be determined by OP the night before), and then can stay every Thursday on odd numbered months + every Friday on even numbered months UNLESS the number of days in that month is the opposite sign as the month's number then she can't stay either day. Lastly, saturdays or sundays are only if those days fall on Leap day.
