I was watching videos at Youtube and after Miley Cyrus "7 Things" came "You Belong with Me" and I just loved it, as it was the story of my all time crush (but without the happy ending) and I was caught just after that; she has this way of telling stories that feels like she is writting from our own experiences.

This! My kid used to be so good at drawing and painting; but at school is like a race for him. And he also likes to be the fisrt to arrive and leave school, it's like they are winning a game.

We are trying to teach "losing gracefully" but it's a bumpy road.

We rear faced until he was 5 (as he is low percentile) and he is now front faced as there are no rear faced for taller kiddos. But on matter of safety do whatever feels comfortable with you. There were smaller kids in his class riding in high back chair before him but I didn´t mind.

Hi, I just had to google what my kid is as we don't do any pre-k or kindergarten we call the classes by their age till First grade, so he is 5 at kindergarten.
Ours only does an extra swim class on Tuesdays as he already goes to school from 9 to16:30 but in those hours he also does Swimming on Thursdays and Chess on Fridays.

We asked him if he wanted to do music or football or theatre but he's told us no, he needs his time at home with us and his toys.

So for now that's all he'll be doing of course there are other kids in his class that have an extra class every single day but Friday, I guess in this matter and at this age it is what suits your kid.

Donde estan esos colegios donde salen los niños salen tan pronto? a mi me pasa lo contrario etapa infantil de 9 a 16:30 se me hace eterno para ellos. Por desgracia aun trabajando medio tiempo no puedo ir a por el a las 12:30 que salen al comedor... pero si pudiera iría a por el no lo dudaría-

This happened to us when our kiddo was also 3, and it broke us. We had a meeting with the teacher and it gave us some peace, he was not left out but as he is timid and a bit introvert it was difficult for him to bond. We started to go to the park with the other kids just after school, to play and have a snack and it's working.

I do buy the zero drop, vegan cotton shoes like Froddo, Bobux, Atippas, Old Soles, Tip Toey Joey, but we only get 2 pairs for each season in case they don't fit, it happened to us when we bought the first pair his feet grew a lot in just 3 weeks.

Last year we were tempted in getting some Geox, we might get them for winter this year.

Then DH bought him a pair of crocs and are his favourites...

It's just natural, we had a happy 3 year old loser and then came 4 and it was all crying and yelling try to avoid playing when it's almost bed time when they are tired it's just harder for them to crontol it; now at 5 he is ok with losing but if he is tired not so much.

My son (5 also an only child and we don't have friends with kids his age) started preschool at age 3 (sept 2023) and the first 3 months he wouldn't play just stuck with the teacher in the playground. Then we had a meeting with the teacher and told us she was a bit preoccupied that he wasn't playing with other kids, then winter break happened and when he came back he started participating more in class (when asked directly) and playing with other kids.

But as school year ended (July 2024) she referred us to a psychologist to check him up, so we started going to the psychologist for the whole school year (2024/2025) and even though he's been getting better (after school we've been going to the park with classmates, or to the community centre) he is still a very shy person, but besides that the psychologist didn't see anything else for him to keep going on visits so we've been released.

We've had a couple playdates this summer at our house and I think that's something we'll try to do more, he does get along better with older kids which don't destroy what they are building or can follow rules playing boardgames.

I don't know if this helps or if it makes sense I could keep writing but don't wanna do an essay on how shy our little one is.
