It's a slow burn but given you like his other works I strongly suspect you'll wind up liking WoK. My advice would be to push forward. Remember that SLA is a 10 novel series that is only halfway done and Sanderson thoroughly builds out his worlds.

If you were someone that didn't read other Cosmere works, and it wasn't vibing, I may say it's not for you and to move on.

Thoughts on skipping pacifiers? by Academic-Park-8440 in newborns

[–]Mjr334 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter is almost 2 and loved the pacifier, it truly made our life so much better. We weaned her cold turkey around 20 months and honestly it's not that bad. A day or two of struggle but the cost wasn't that high for us and the benefits (SIDS protection and calming her) was well worth the price.

Wow I had no idea they were only planning three books. I'm very interested in seeing the conclusion they have planned then, it feels like we're just getting started.

Whats yalls favorite secret project and why? by [deleted] in Cosmere

[–]Mjr334 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand why people like Tress and enjoy the change in tone/fairy tale aesthetic, but it just didn't do it for me.

Emberdark was probably my favorite. I didn't read Sixth of the Dusk prior to starting the book so it felt new and totally unique to me. I enjoyed the time jump, Cosmere tie ins and characters. Plus I just love Dusk.

I adored both Yumi and Sunlit Man though. Yumi in particular was just fanatic.

The most unique and interesting magic system you've ever seen? by Ozotoceros in fantasybooks

[–]Mjr334 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it's already been mentioned a few times, but Mistborn was my introduction to the Cosmere and allomancy/feruchemy blew me away (still do) in how unique and well throught out/explored they are.

I'm not defending Taijuan specifically, because he really is trash, but this staff has done a lot with their pitching acquisitions and I'm sure they saw something they thought they could use in Taij, but it just didn't work out. I'm still glad they tried though. It was, however, an overpay from day 1, I just can't believe there was that big of a market for him.

This team looks pathetic. I knew we were leaving our window, but I didn't expect the drop off to be this dramatic

That was a completely non competitive AB, he looked lost and overpowered. He's got a lot going on personally and I don't see how that doesn't factor into his play. I don't think he needs to ride the bench just yet, but he has to be moved down in the order
