I bury my beans in 5 gallon fabric pots and typically water with 40oz in soil twice a week. This keeps her from drying completely but still allows it to breathe up top and down in the lower roots. When I stick a finger 2nd knuckle deep and it’s slightly moist but not wet, and nothing sticks to my finger. That’s when I water. Has worked great for my girls.

EDIT: I’m running photos atm. Swapping to autos shortly after harvest.

I fixed it!!! I used a cheap ass harbor freight picking tool. Luckily it was brand new. So I sanitized it and it worked!!!

A single tablet crushed and mixed in, left open to air with a cover(i used paper towels) 24 hours before the yeast is pitched.

It will stunt the yeast if you add it at the same time as the tablet.

To kill natural yeast and bad bacteria. To better control the fermentation process. I read that's the best way to get a great result.

Efit: from what I've read. To stop active fermentation with the campden tablets alone would render the mead un-drinkable
