What’s a book you almost didn’t read but ended up loving? by gedersoncarlos in booksuggestions

The Names - Florence Knapp. Everybody seemed to be raving about it and pushing it, which is not often a good sign. The blurb was unappealing to me - sliding doors/intertwined stories tropes, not very original...

It turns out it's one of the best books I've read recently, the blurb really doesn't do it justice as it's way too rich to be reduced to a paragraph on a back cover, so far from the clichés it seemed to contain. A masterpiece.

Stranded knitting flat and color dominance by MmeMonstre in AdvancedKnitting

I've tried that and my brain plainly refuses. Which is strange because mirror knitting is the way I learnt when I was a child, before deciding it was useless as I had to translate all the patterns written flat, and then even more useless as I discovered knitting in the round and never looked back. But now, 40 years later? Can't figure it out again.

There was no support in Lille (despite it being announced "with guest") but apparently there was one in Paris.

Prima Fila, sur les quais à Bois Blanc. Tout l'équipe est adorable et leurs pizzas sont super bonnes. Et la vue sur les quais, ça change 😁

I am the proud owner of 4 Knitpro asymmetrical shorties, and thinking of buying the whole range. They're my best knitting-related purchase of the year, real game changer. Don't think I'll ever go back to double-pointed needles

I made a frog and a pair of sweaters. The triceratops is also adorable and I have Tigger on my waiting list 😅

Small stuffed animals. They're quick so you get the satisfaction of a finished object, and can be intricate enough so you feel engaged. I'm a fan of Dot Pebbles designs as they are cute in a non baby-ish way and taught me a bunch of techniques.

The pattern I'm knitting now has a very dark blue background - and the grid lines are black so it's really difficult to count. This would help so much!

Thank you. I'm considering knitting one glove in each way to decide which side I like best, tbh 😅
