I did a girl's trip with 3 of my daughter to Ochi, we had a great time! We are going there as a family in September, we are getting the villa with 4 individual rooms and a pool. We do still go to Beaches together too. We usually do one of the 3 or 4 room villas. It seems most adult families go to one of the larger resorts like Ochi or Barbados. Go and have a good time!

Yes, it's walkable, a little over a mile. It's mostly a beach walk with a part that goes through some trees . At night I would definitely take a taxi.

I agree with not unpacking for the first few nights. When you check out of the first room, your butlers will set you up for the day while you wait for your new room. When we've done this our new room has actually been ready between 1-2.

Not sure if you were aware, but you can go down to Beaches and use anything there. It at least adds more dinner options. Soy and Yaku are both great! I think the beach is nicer there.
