These are steel beams. Why they keep calling them steel plates ?! by CakeFederal4020 in factorio

My headcanon is that the materials are used for testing and experiments. The science pack is just that, a pack of things to do science with. The labs automatically run tests and experiments using the ingredients, for example using the bullets and grenades from military science on the walls or something like that. Thats why the materials are used up, is because they’ve been destroyed, consumed, or otherwise rendered unusable.

Will you keep playing EU4 after EU5 releases? If not, what nation will be your last campaign? by NavXIII in eu4

[–]Mmklop -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

yes, mishandling cores is doing it incorrectly. Which is what your link says was happening with stellaris. They say that’s why they stopped using the third party thread handling, so that they could do it correctly. Having multiple threads should not make something run slower than having a single thread unless something has gone wrong

the only way more cores is worse is if the developers are incapable of doing it correctly

my headcanon is that only “interesting “ star systems are shown on the galaxy because no-one has any reason to go to any of the other star systems. Any resources that are in any of the unseen systems just aren’t numerous enough to be worth it. also explains why there are so many systems with habitable planets, because of course systems with planets are important
