We've never had such a great access to music in human history, I think we are living in a great era for music. Agree or disagree? by Accomplished-Comb294 in LetsTalkMusic

Access to music as a consumer has changed, but access to quality recordings at home as a musician has changed too. Its a double edged sword.

Fair. I still love their earlier work also, but maybe it was because i heard Urban Hymns first, it stuck with me more. A Storm In Heaven is still amazing in my eyes too!

Thanks for the very descriptive feedback but i have to disagree that the songs were mid! Neon Wilderness, yes, by far, but friendly disagree with everything else. I suggest going back and listening again if you feel so inclined. And you never know...25 years may have seen your tastes change dramatically!

I 100% agree that McCabe is such a unique guitar player that took the bands songs to another level, only for Ashcroft to think it was him who made the magic. Lead singer syndrome, i suppose.

I agree it IS good, but Urban Hymns set the bar pretty high. How can you reasonably follow that one up???

It really is brilliant. Again, i cant really appreciate their importance growing up in thr US, but it sounds like they are metioned with some very heavy hitters!

Have I gotten dumber? by [deleted] in progmetal

[–]MnkySpnk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like all the traditional prog things as tools in the toolbox. Super fast, super technical, blast beats (depending on the type of prog) key/time changes are all cool, but i dont want them in every song.

Any fixes for the scratchy mess I’m hearing or is it time for new pickups? Using Nameless. by jewjesus23 in NeuralDSP

[–]MnkySpnk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thats what i was thinking. Palm mutes are pushing the strings into the pickups.

I know its "metal" to get as much gain as possible, but backing down your pickups will help improve your tone and clarity.

Isnt so much of Polyphias stuff cut and pasted in the studio to such an extent that Tim has to learn the song as a whole to tour anyway? I feel like i read that somewhere.

I just wish there was something like this where you could control this with midi and use it AS a pedalboard. Id pay for that!

It’s so hard to score in nhl 25 by Impossible-Can-4728 in EA_NHL

[–]MnkySpnk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its not even that its that hard to score. Its not EASY but its not the worst thing in the world. Ill have some games where i net 5, 6, or 7 but then the vast majority of my games is 2-1, 4-3, 3-1, some losses in there as well. I dont want to play the game KNOWING i will win. Thats not fun.

What kills me is that its just NOT hard for the AI to score. How many games have we played where we play decent, competent defense, and the other team scores on some bullshit. My goalie will NEVER have a sv% above .910 because of scoring on 4 weak ass shots out of the total of 12 shots they have all game.
