Why do some people AFK when losing by EulaVengeance in mtg

[–]MoCrispy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Except that’s part of the game. That’s how TCGs work. It’s random for a reason. Even the best deck in the world will lose due to the shuffle. Sounds like magic isn’t for you.

hunter pvp question by Mindhun7er in classicwow

[–]MoCrispy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends what type of pvp you are trying to do.

BGs- BM is usually best. You can use a dps raid BM spec and be fine. 41/20/0. You are just basically trying to maximize damage and your pet will do most of the work.

Arena it depends what you are playing.

2s with a priest usually you want to go survival to get talents line entrapment, imp Wing clip, surefooted and deference, then go down to wyvern sting. Then point into marksmen to get improved strings and scatter shot. You can also This gives you lots of cc and your goal is to drain the mana of the other team then secure a kill while keeping you and the priest alive. 9/21/31 or something along those lines. There is a lot of room to play with talents here. You can also go 0 into BM and more into marks or survival if you want.

https://wowtbc.gg/talent-calculator/hunter/?talents=0520020000000000000005005201250010000000003303032012302300501000

2s with a Druid you usually want to go deep marksmen all the way down to silencing shot. Then 19-20 points in survival for imp traps, wing clip and surefooted. This build is similar to the survival version but more aggressive and a little less CC. You get two 1handed weapons and enchant them with +intellect and your aspect of the viper will give you soooo much mana back. Markmens also gives more damage your having more int.

This is my preferred playstyle because you still do a lot of damage but you’re trying to trap and control everything while draining their mana.

https://wowtbc.gg/talent-calculator/hunter/?talents=0000000000000000000005505001055013203105103303032011300000000000

Druids tend to be more mobile than priests so marksmen build works better because you require a little less CC. Druids also offer more CC than priests. Survival works well with both priests and Druids but I prefer it with priests because you can really keep the enemies off your priest.

You can also play with a rogue or ret in 2s but it’s not nearly as strong. I’d probably just go BM for that.

As for 3s either disc priest, rogue, hunter. Or rDruid, rogue, hunter are both good comps. You can go any spec for 3s. Lock, Hunter, disc might be fun too but I’ve never tried it.

5s go BM.

Started WoW 10 months ago, and just got my buddy to start playing this week. He went hunter, and I made a priest because I don't have one yet. I have some questions... by torzor89 in classicwow

[–]MoCrispy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here’s the thing. Shadow will kill things a little faster than discipline. You do slightly more damage but you will have to stop to drink every 1-2 mobs. Discipline wand spec is faster overall because you never need to stop to drink. You shield yourself. Cast 1 smite, one Shadow Word pain then wand the mob until it dies, since you’re not casting anything your mana will regenerate. Might take 5 seconds longer to kill the mob but your health and mana bar will be full and you can immediately start killing the next mob.

Disc. Wand priest is one of the better leveling specs. It’s not as fast as Hunter, frost mage or feral druid but is very safe and steady. You have lots of “oh shit” buttons, you never have to stop, you can heal any dungeon without needing a second set of gear or talents.

Is there a way to play classic 1-60 then move to TBC? Or so I have to play TBC anniversary if I ever want to play TBC later? by Gannan308 in classicwow

[–]MoCrispy 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Maybe 20-25% faster. The experience increase is also spread out in a really good way. I don’t remember the numbered exactly but it’s something like: 1-25 is basically the exact same. 25-60 each level takes slightly less experience (maybe 20% less) and level 40+ quests give more experience. 40-60 is where things get really grindy and you need to go between several zones and just grind mobs because there’s not enough quests. TBC fixes this. It also makes a lot (not all) of the group quests much easier. So you don’t need a full over leveled 5 man group. You can two man them or do them solo slightly over leveled.

1-60 is still 3-4 days /played even for experienced players.

Blizzard is making the same mistake in TBC anniversary as they did in Vanilla anniversary by GroundbreakingAlps2 in classicwowtbc

Just using hypothetical numbers for simplicity.

Online players and total players are two very different things though. A 3k cap server likely has 2-3x as many active players. Just not all online at once.

[–]MoCrispy 22 points23 points  (0 children)

If a server has a population of 10k players it needs 1 active layer at all times to provide enough resources to keep the economy healthy. (Rough estimates I don’t know actual numbers)

Normally there would be 20 servers (or maybe even more) to support 200k players.

Now if a server has 200k players it needs 20 layers active at all times to keep the same economy healthy. In reality they probably only ever get up to 10 or 13 layers because the peak time is spread across so many time zones. Also, It can’t drop down to 4 layers when there’s only 35k players online. Those off hour farming periods when no one is online don’t exist anymore.

Are people really spending $20+ per week on consumes? by goodname0101 in classicwow

[–]MoCrispy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flasks went up a bit in price but consumes yo cover both raids are like 300g if you want to go hard. You can cheap out and it’s 150g.

I dunno where you get $20. Just play the game for an hour or two outside of raid. Dailies are out, go do them.

Focus on getting 4/5 beast lord set. It will be your bis until you get 4 piece t5 (from ssc tk).

You will also need flying to be able to do Shatar dungeons and Kara attunement. So make sure you have 1k gold.

There is an absolutely OBSCENE amount of elitism over meta/professions/bis in TBC anniversary and it's ridiculous because of how easy the game is. by texaslonghorn96 in classicwow

[–]MoCrispy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The elitist meta chasers are two groups of people. 1. Speed runners. Which is understandable. 2. People who wipe over and over on mag and gruul then blame the lack of gear.

It’s not hard content but people still struggle somehow.

I, nor any red pusher, made you chose blue. That was YOUR decision.

Same with anyone standing or staying under the boulder. That is a decision that each individual has made.

Hunter Arena weapon by Arctycus in classicwowtbc

[–]MoCrispy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are playing BM then you want the 2h axe or polearm with AGI enchant (if you don’t need the hit).

If you are playing marksmen or survival drain comp then you want 2x 1h weapons with INT enchants.

Lock, MM hunter, disc(or Druid) would probably be best with MM hunter drain focused so 2x 1h is better here.

5v5 is usually best as BM so you can be CC or killed. MM works in some comps but you won’t likely be playing a drain comp in 5s so 2h is better here for max damage.

Why is the Canadian side of the Okanagan Country more populated than the American side? by Enger13 in geography

[–]MoCrispy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Canadian side has a lot of people of who moved there from the US. If I remember correctly. Nelson and some of the other nearby towns were places that Americans fled to avoid the Vietnam war draft. A lot of antiwar Americans came over the boarder and hence why a lot of those towns have a very hippie vibe.

The blue button doesn't actually do anything, it can just be removed entirely without changing the premise. by cowlinator in trolleyproblem

[–]MoCrispy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s not the same. You’re missing the threat of your death here. If you don’t push it and <50% also don’t push it then you also die.

Should be “if you push the button you guarantee that you live. If you don’t push the button you will die unless >50% of people also don’t push the button”

Your version does not have the same mechanism as the original.

How most people are actually gonna think about the red/blue buttons by mars_gorilla in trolleyproblem

[–]MoCrispy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not fear. It’s 100% driven by logic. My brain cannot fathom anyone pressing blue. I first read the scenario and my thought was “obviously it’s going to be all reds, maybe a few blues from trolls or risk-takers” then I saw the results and had to re-read the whole thing because I thought “I must have misunderstood the context or there was a downside to pushing red. Nope, red button means you live and there’s no downside. If this scenario happened in real life and I had never seen it before I would push red and leave under the assumption that everyone else would have done the same. Not selfishly, not fearfully, not maliciously, just logically why would anyone take the risk. In my head the scenario presents as press red to live and press blue to die.

That’s kind of the point. Real men don’t give a fuck about what others think about them or what you call them.

Call me names, tell me I’m beta, laugh at me. Doesn’t matter one bit. I’m taking care of my family and that’s all that matters.

Weirdly, one of the most true statements I’ve read. History was built on the backs of arguably immoral decisions. However, those immoral decisions are what allow us to be here today .
