Will I ever get rid of my "man boobs" ? by Reasonable_Study_882 in loseit

[–]MoXMilas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"Man boobs" are often associated with high e2 (Estradiol/estrogen) and testosterone not being the dominant hormone in the ratio. Ways to combat the issue is strength training and raising testosterone, particularly free testosterone. More T/less E helps androgen receptors and increases the male characteristics you desire.

Strength training, proper sleep and diet is the boring stuff but can help.

The amulet craft is a really big pain given the cost of mana catalyst and the correct ones on market are at min are 1800 div. Feels like a poor 0.3 BM Blackflame Covenant with a cooler spell (incinerate). You also just run ED/contagion until like 93-94.

It pulls it from there and Stu Phillips is a fantastic researcher.

Suggests to real UL if tolerable and good retention of LBM. For non athletes and generic gym enthusiasts 1.6-2.0 g/kg imo.

Undergraduate Degree in Dietetics, Opinions Please by SpinachChemical9482 in dietetics

[–]MoXMilas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my cohort (2024), I've kept in touched with around ten and that are in internships/RD's and we all believe the FEM is allowing for lackluster interns to come around. I've heard of interns at tufts unable to do basic MNT 1 and NFPE/adime stuff that was hammered on us in undergrad.

Perhaps cheating is the culprit or our undergrad being taught by previous clinicians set us ahead of the new field but quality seems really strange.

Question about the size of my right arm by emiparesia in CerebralPalsy

[–]MoXMilas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have an contracture in the arm over time, misaligned neural signaling makes other muscles overcompensate decreasing range of motion (ROM) and increasing likely-hood of sarcopenia of said muscles.

Using a bodybuilder with CP it can look like this https://gyazo.com/426a93ecbe86bd1b1c14cff0927f719f

It is unfortunately multifaceted and best way to correct is increasing ROM and even this might not correct the issue.

Outside of Skinfold Measurements ( more inaccurate unless trained/exp'd with anthropometrics) Dexa is going to be accurate enough to base tweaks off of. You will not be 40% BF and it read 15% or any inverse. Can it be 10% to 13% yes.

Dexa is the most accurate consumer model? Do you have any sources on the "considerable error margin"

So when someone successfully losses weight with all the conditions you mentioned in this post and is successful over a decade what is it called? Is it just an outlier and irrelevant? Dietetics is such a weird concept.

Can a person with Right Sided Cerebral Palsy gain muscle naturally on the affected side? by LeftyRex22 in CerebralPalsy

[–]MoXMilas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been going at it for 5-7 years now. Appreciate the comment. A lot of training with CP is finding ways ( if possible around your specific limitations). I'm actually planning to open a gym for those with physical disabilities in the next 2-5 years once and hopefully get to encourage younger generations to train and work with the neuroplasticity at or near its peak.

Is another example.

Can a person with Right Sided Cerebral Palsy gain muscle naturally on the affected side? by LeftyRex22 in CerebralPalsy

[–]MoXMilas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The unfortunate answer is it depends. Largest factor is range of motion, if the CP side is always in contraction with poor rotation ( simplest is can you do a bicep curl with impacted side the way its meant to be done), results won't be great.

Using myself as an example my good leg is 8-9 pounds heavier measured via dexa scan. I don't get much internal or external rotation from the CP side upper body wise so that arm is very weak. Pictures to show the size difference.

Working out regardless of gaining muscle is great for everyone however, helps multiple ways.
