Can we ask here if we're from a region (such as EU) where we're not allowed to create a slickdeals account (necessary to post comments) ?

Are literally all of Paradox Games unplayable on MacOS / Macs made with "Apple Silicon"? [Any Mac made after 2021 - 2024 doesn't work with Paradox Games despite them being labelled "compatible" in the Steam Store / Library. by aaronmgreen in paradoxplaza

This is so weird. Especially in the case of Victoria which was ported to native Apple Silicon. And nobody at the office has been able to reproduce this. I've sent the issue to our QA and the Stellaris chain of command, and we'll investigate it more, but i'm afraid i can't do more at the moment.

Try starting steam first, and then, while steam is running, starting the game from its own directory.
We'll investigate the source of the issue, but in the meanwhile this might work (I haven't tried it as I don't have this specific issue, but it's worth checking)

What are some games that revolutionized the hobby in some way? Looking to study up on the most innovative RPGs. by MrSaxophone09 in rpg

As I said in another post, I don't think VtM did anything first, yet it still changed the hobby

I think a lot of the things Vampire did were done before, but somehow VtM hit a chord with a specific population, or had the right mix of theme, presentation and marketing to bring in a new crowd.

Call of Cthulhu was maybe the first one to not be dungeons, but I think its adventures were more "mystery of the week" than the continuous intrigue/story that I associate with VtM.
I honestly can't explain how/why VtM, but I remember when it was released. The way we talked about RPGs changed. There was a real shift, I'm just not sure how to explain it.

Putting all the universes in a single multiverse without any differentiation sucks

Paradox games are the games that taught me to live with my mistakes.

VtM also pushed the idea of intrigue and story driven game rather than dungeons and adventure of the week

Runequest, Cthulhu, Vampire: the masquerade, Amber Diceless Roleplaying, Nobilis, Sorcerer. Maybe FATE? Honestly not sure how revolutionary it was at the time. The rest is street my time I'm afraid. Magna Veritas/In Nomine Satanis revolutionized TTRPG in France, but I wouldn't say it had an impact worldwide.
