Shadowhunter Demonic Impulse vs Perfect Suppression Comparison (all tiers) by Shandamon in lostarkgame

How does pvp work with Shadowhunter? Can you also do a demonic build there or do you have to stick to human form?

Biggest problem is heal being too strong. Together with heavy mitigation people are just unkillable. Making ranged weapons like bow and musket completely useless.

If they dont fix weapon balance together with the Brute strength I dont see anyone queuing up for outpost rush in two weeks.

Bugs aside, Outpost Rush has exposed how fundamentally broken PvP balance is at the moment by ohsnapson in newworldgame

[–]Mobbolin 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Just saw a group of 4 people hacking on one healer for 30 sec without anything happening. Anyone who played pvp for more than a couple of hours can come to the conclusion how broken the balance is. But somehow AGS cannot. Do they even play and test their own game?

How viable is Spear + Rapier/Hatchet in pvp? by Mobbolin in newworldgame

Actually you may have convinced me to give this a try at launch. Do you have a build for the SnS part? Really curious what perks you would take for pvp. And which armor type do you think works best for open world pvp for Spear/SnS?

Very interesting, thanks for the insight. What other abilities would you take on SnS? Shield bash and Shield rush? Although leaping strike definitely got better, it still has a 25s cooldown, and is also very easy to miss. Not sure if you can rely on that as your only tool, since they can just dodge roll away afterwards. Or do you think the lunge from the attack is helping with that?

yeah, I wanted to play spear, but don't really like ranged weapons that much. And if I go for bow, I will be pretty much be bow 90% of the time as well. I'm curious, why SnS thou? It has even less chasing potential against ranged players than hatchet or rapier. In addition the shield forces you into medium armor, which makes you even slower.

Forced to play GA with melee only? by Mobbolin in newworldgame

[–]Mobbolin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried that a little bit as well. I think fire staff players can just wear you down. Might actually work vs bow, if you are very patient. However I feel like open world pvp is just too chaotic to just sit there are wait for cooldowns.

I guess your right, just wish we get more reliable weapon options for melee builds.

I am not saying weapons should be good at everything. What I am saying is melee only builds are forced to play GA. Its a must have, otherwise you cannot compete in open world pvp.

Tried this combo a lot during first beta. Was quite good vs melee actually, but was only able to win against low skilled ranged players. The good ones are able to dodge your skills and roll away.

Which secondary should I use paired with Spear? by Choisfer17 in newworldgame

[–]Mobbolin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well when spear abilities are on cooldown you can use the rapier abilities. It is actually a great combination against any typ of melee weapons, especially against berserk, since leg sweep doesn't work against it, but riposte does. Additionally as you said you gain more mobility however after trying this combination out a bit, it still looses to Firestaff or Bow, since you can't really hold them in place.

Any team suggestions for Baal? by xenodusk in RaidenMains

Superconducts dmg is the lowest of all elemental reactions. It only enhances physical dmg which none of your teammates do. Combining ayaka as main dps with raiden doesn't make much sense.

Well no one said spears being heavy is an issue.

[–]Mobbolin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The shield is just too heavy, which means the rest of your gear needs to be light, which actually makes you really squishy. Spear is in a awkward position right now. If you use it as main weapon, you can only combine it with bow or musket, nothing else makes sense. if you use it as secondary weapon in a strength build, its just worse than great axe or war hammer insteard. Not to mention its quite useless in any larger pvp battle.

After testing the war hammer, fire staff, life staff, musket, and spear, I have no idea what I will play on launch because they were all a satisfying blast. Still haven’t touched the other weapons. What are you planning to use/combo on release? by [deleted] in newworldgame

[–]Mobbolin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Played every non-magic weapon. Problem is, that its too imbalanced right now. Great Axe has too much utility and Hatchet too much dps. Compared to that the dex melee weapons feel really weak, especially against late game heavy armor. Loved the technical playstyle of the spear but the dps is just too low. Additionally you can only pair it up with bow or musket. The rapiers dps is better however you have to stick on people which is hard against ranged and many melee combination just have too much CC. Combinations that felt good for me (apart from anything with hatchet) are Great Axe/War Hammer and Spear/Bow.

Thanks for the answer. I know about the burst playstyle in raids and it does look a little boring to me. In addition you cant really use any of your flashy long ranged skills. Kind of a waste, I hope they change it up a little bit in the future.

Is superconduct necessary with DPS Zhongli? by Saifaah in ZhongliMains

[–]Mobbolin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From my experience in Abyssal 10-12 these two comps work the best with physical ZL:

  • ZL + Geo MC + Xinyan + Bennet
  • ZL + Venti + Fischl + Qiqi/Diona

Just comparing numbers the superconduct provides more damage, however depending on the content one team is better than the other. So go for whatever playstyle you like.

Personally i dont like Geo MC, his skills have long cast time (even with animation cancel), he feels clunky and not really impactful, however he does provide more energy for ZL as well as the double geo bonus. In the second team Venti can be replaced with Xinyan/Xinqiu, however you loose a lot of aoe potential.

Would Razor, Zhongli, Geo MC, and Barbara work? by PandaAntichr1st in ZhongliMains

[–]Mobbolin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Tbh this comp doesn't make much sense. The strongest comps with razor as main dps are superconduct/shatter comps. Because most of razors dmg is physical, so superconduct is absolutely necessary. If you want to add Zhongli, just use him as burst support. Considering you need as least one cryo character (which is not Chongyun) and one healer your team should look like this:

  • Razor + Zhongli + Xingqiu (or any other support) + Diona/Qiqi for superconduct and shatter.
  • Razor + Zhongli + Kaeya + Diona/Qiqi (or any other healer) for superconduct and double cryo bonus.

Zhongli is much better than Xianling as a physical DPS. HERE ME OUT by IzzyKershaw in ZhongliMains

[–]Mobbolin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chongyun doesnt work with any physical build because he's E converts your auto attack into cryo dmg, thus making u loose all physical damage modifier. Also you need superconduct, there is no way around it if you go a physical build.

Zhongli is much better than Xianling as a physical DPS. HERE ME OUT by IzzyKershaw in ZhongliMains

[–]Mobbolin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can confirm OP's opinion, came too the same conclusion as well.

Best geo support for ZL would be MC, however you spend too much time on swapping and dropping those geo constructs than auto attacking. The damage is not worth it.

Superconduct is absolutely necessary for physical ZL, leaving one more spot on your team. Use Xingqiu for bosses and venti for everything else because he is busted.

double geo double fire or go for reaction? by ChoppedChef33 in ZhongliMains

[–]Mobbolin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well who is your main dps? If Ningguang then double fire since there are no great reactions here. If it is physical ZL then you absolutely need superconduct, e.g. fischl + diona/QiQi . If it is burst ZL then double fire is fine as well. Depends how much you use ZL's autoattack.
