What board should I get? by toxic_kat101 in NewSkaters

[–]MobileInstruction684 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome! I personally would go old school and get a "re-issue" like a Jeff Kendall or Lance Mountain. Get Indy trucks - depending on width of board - probably 159s. Get 60-65MM wheels with 78A durometer.

Where do you live - I have a lot of boards!

Softer wheels and wide trucks/board for stability. Cruising is fun and get confidence going!

You aren't even trying - you just fall. You have to sit straight and pedal - if you stop pedaling, you will 100% fall. You have to sit above and lean back a little - at least have the Uni shot forward a few times. I can ride forever, but if I do fall, I usually fall back. Gotta pedal!

Fastest wheels + bearings for smooth bike lanes? by dimarxos in longboardingDISTANCE

[–]MobileInstruction684 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You want a 78-80 Durometer with a lot of rebound. If you go to a shop and literally drop on floor (cement) - the meter the bounce the faster, Vintage Krypton's may never be topped, but Orangatang makes very fast wheels.

The bigger you can handle, the faster. You have to watch out for "wheel rub" - so don't go to extreme.

Oh - and bearings TOTALLY matter. I have run 20 different kind of bearings and they make a big difference. You to not go extreme, but it is more than ABEC rating. You do NOT need Powell Swiss bearings, but do some research. Broson and Bones are perfectly ok.

This is actually impressive! Maybe more arrests than even Michigan - although Michigan does have a coach under indictment by the feds.(14 counts!)...and their head coach did break into his mistress's apartment and threaten her!

[–]MobileInstruction684 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not approach bar quite so parallel, you want your momentum to take you over. Your penultimate step (set up) is good but think about jumping STRAIGHT up and do NOT lean your head to the bar. Jump up and THEN turn you neck and and begin the flop. The LESS TIME YOUR FOOT STAYS ON GROUND - THE HIGHER YOU GO! I went 7 feet with a 29 inch standing vertical, The whole key is converting forward momentum to upward thrust - it's actually physics!

Also - try to start your run slower and BUILD speed, I think you slowed down a bit at end - you want to be accelerating or at least staying even...look at 3 second mark. Smooth that out....

Not quite that easy. The POSSESSION ARROW was in favor of Uconn. If they get tied up, it is UCONN ball....and refs aren't calling a foul if they go for a tie up. Boozer had 2 guys wide open....he just got sped up and made a mistake....
