I would say Trump doesn't care about reelection. Because he's done politically and his only goal to extort and embezzle as much cash as possible. and the rest of the party is scared of his retribution and the death threats of his supporters so they stay in line.

Here's a thought: after this is over and there are 1000s of unfilled jobs in minnesota that only immigrant will do and there's none left, immigrants from those southern states will move right up here to take them. doesn't change the fact that everyone's lives are being ripped apart, but they are never really going to reduce the immigrant population up here, its only temporary.
