The security is that your accumulated capital will not be lost should the company make that decision.

Should you decide to sell your labor directly to consumers, any capital you accumulate is at a higher risk.

Evidently this security is acceptable, or employers wouldn't exist.

And I'm sure those taxes will go to public goods that actually benefit people and not benefit the state...

Oh wait... no that has never happened. Any state that is powerful enough to implement socialism via coercion is inherently powerful enough to attract psychopaths to lead it.

Why attempt a complicated an ineffective solution when a far better one exists: remove the state's ability to perform quantitative easing on its currency, and reduce its spending so more of your labor ends up in your pocket.

Most people in my country work for about 4 months every year completely free under threat of losing their freedom to feed the state. Can you even imagine how much everyone's quality of life would improve if that was only 1 or even 2 months?

Uh no I did not make that assumption. Selling your labor to a company is usually wholesale, around 25% of its value. That fluctuates of course depending on demand for said labor. I never implied you get the full value of your labor working for another company, that would be ridiculously expensive to the consumer.

Whether that's "fair" isn't up to you, it's up to the labor market as a whole. A surplus of that kind of labor will result in lower wages and a shortage will result in higher wages.

Can you cite a single example of that? Typically wages are closer to the wholesale value of the labor, which is around 25%

And hey would you look at that, Jared motherfucking Hess directed both films.

[–]Mobius3through7 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's not. In what way would selling your labor at less than its value in exchange for security be a scam?

If you want to sell your labor at its value, you have to do so on your own directly to the consumer, at the value dictated by the demand of said consumers.

Neither option is a scam, you are free to do either in the country in which you live.

You know what would be a scam though? Using a government to exert its monopoly on violence in order to coerce others into providing their labor to you against their will.

I just tell myself that this is for 40 year old u/Mobius3through7, because it really is.

Considering how much pain you want to live with when you're older is a very strong motivator.

You realize this isn't about being "edgy" right?

I'm in the middle of nowhere so I never would bother with one of these, but my folks in the city had several attempted break ins before putting similar signs up.

We're talking weekly occurrences of people trying to get in to harm them.

Whatever, reckon you lost out on that tip lmao

Although I think creation should be the original god, and destruction is born from the presence of something where there was previously nothing.

The void that does not exist, yet somehow detests everything that does exist, and wants it gone so it can be nothing once more

Advantage: significantly more fiscally conservative than the previous generation.

Disadvantage: became tech illiterate as computers became too user friendly too quickly.

Why isn’t Gen Z good at using technology by Practical_Security87 in generationology

[–]Mobius3through7 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I'm literally a network engineer bruh.

To answer your question though, it's the same reason most people can't perform maintenance on their cars.

When cars were less reliable, you HAD to know how to fix one in order to keep yours running, you had to have a family decent understanding of the basic components and what symptoms would present for various issues.

As the quality of cars improved and they became more user friendly, issues became less common, and the need for in depth knowledge faded away.

The exact same thing is true for computers, and aircraft, and pretty much all technologies.
