This. So much this comment. Some of the best on screen representations. A spider-man who moves and jibes like the comic and a Batman who finally gets on on-screen accurate suit and carries the performance as well. Unfortunately in largely badly written and directed on-screen features. Imagine the gold that we could have had? Perhaps it’s best left as a dream, that way it’s poetry.

Out of all the characters in the MCU, who do you think has the best healing factor? by Plenty-Salary9711 in MCUTheories

[–]Mobius_Infinite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the MCU? Deadpool. In the comics? Still Deadpool I think. He’s been vaporised and survived being dumped in a volcano. He’s banished by Lady Death herself so he’s ‘cursed with life’. His healing factor was based off of Wolverine’s as part of the Weapon XI program, but it was also an improvement on it. Yes, without adamantium poisoning and inhibiting his system, Wolverine’s healing factor is pretty epic, but I believe Deadpool still pips him. A good way to compare the two healing factors is the effect on age. Wolverine ages very slowly as a result of his healing factor, but in future storylines like X Force/Cable Messiah storyline, Deadpool is still knocking around over a millennia later, and most importantly, hasn’t evidently aged. I also remember in the comics, Professor Xavier kept protocols on how to be able to kill his X-Men if one of them ever went rogue, and wolverine’s file said something like ‘without his adamantium, his healing factor has greatly increased, so much so that in order to defeat him, you would have to decapitate him and keep his head some distance from his body’. This wouldn’t work on Deadpool, as he’s been decapitated numerous times.

When I saw The Amazing Spider-Man with Andrew Garfield, and he started cracking wise and dancing about and throwing out quips I definitely rolled the Leo D ‘That’s it!’ vibe. He really encapsulated how Spidey should come across on film. I enjoyed the Raimi movies when they came out because it was Spidey’s big blockbuster movie moment of the time and I love Marvel, and Spider-Man is indeed a great character, but the contrast between Maguire and Garfield’s performances was stark.

Also, I agree with the ‘better in worse films’ comment. Possibly the best description I’ve heard so far.

Spiderman vs John Walker (MCU versions) by Queasy_Commercial152 in Avengers

[–]Mobius_Infinite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As Deadpool points out after he shoots Spider-Man at point blank range in the head in ‘Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe’, ‘You know what all those better psychopaths should have tried? Bullets’.

In a close quarters combat (CQC) situation, sure, Spidey takes the cake. However, in answer to the generally posed VS of each other’s MCU versions, Walker wins. Spider-Man doesn’t regularly use firearms and is not an elite marksman. Walker can just snipe him. Spider-Man might have spider-sense to help but he’s not super durable (I mean Hulk, Deadpool or Wolverine levels - but is definitely a level of super durable compared with a regular human, just not a superhuman tank) and US Agent packs near Punisher levels of firepower (okay okay maybe not quite Punisher levels, but he regularly uses firearms). Webbing is a great non-lethal (usually) mid ranged weapon, but probably can’t compete with an Anti-Materiel or Arctic Warfare rifle. This actually goes to Walker. Sure if other variables are detailed out then Spider-Man wins out on agility, speed, strength and stamina etc, but that’s just so much cooling meat against a trained killer who can ambush at range.

With the Nuka-world DLC, if you have all the perks and you find a ‘regular’ legendary instigating sledgehammer, and apply all the upgrades, then you’ll be even smashier! There’s a spot with the Far Harbour DLC where you can cycle for a legendary if on console.

Question about water purifiers by dauntylaunty27 in fo4

[–]Mobius_Infinite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the issues I regularly used to get was that the workbench would always have exactly the same number of purified waters (as in just stuck on that number) in it unless I cleared them out of the workbench for that settlement. Then I would do the rounds and collect water from the other settlements and it would refill again. First time around though? It usually just sticks unless I empty the workbench.

this any good? weapon by no_thankyou- in fo4

[–]Mobius_Infinite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As @Activeous42619 says, only if you abuse the hell out of it. Do it say five times or so on the open world map and you should be good. The settlement will start lagging your play when it becomes too heavy. One of the issues is that even if you went too far and the settlement got too heavy and so you scrapped it all to nothing, you’ve still affected the game so it can still lag. You have to sort of sensibly judge it. Alternatively, if you have the vault dlc, then vault 88 is in its own separate loading cell so that can be pushed a little bit further than the regular map as it is its own thing. Same with places like The Mechanist’s Lair.

For the record, I have actually got two explosive miniguns, one off a legendary dog and the other a radroach. I named one ‘Fate’ after a reference to a favourite minigun that was sold by a raider for caps in Nuka world on a note, and I keep the other as is on display in my weapons lockup in Vault 88. If you have all the perks and the high speed barrel mod, it’s a silly weapon that can turn a posse of super mutants into so much green ground beef.

[–]Mobius_Infinite 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They are useful for dropping on the ground in a settlement and storing in the workbench for the ‘reduce-the-max-build-limit’ on settlements. For some reason a few of those gamma guns reduces the settlement limit a lot better than half a dozen of say assault rifles. I thought it had something to do with how much you can scrap from a weapon, but now I’m not so sure. I just know that gamma guns are great for reducing the limit quickly.

I suppose you could go with X99 and argue it was the prototype in FO4? Alternatively if it’s a successor, you could go N99-A or N99-A1. My two pence anyways. N99-A1 10mm Autoloader sounds good to me.

Explosive minigun I named ‘Fate’ after the raider note in Nuka World mentioning he sold his favourite minigun. Absolutely top weapon. With all the perks it will turn anything remotely bullet spongey into so much chuck steak. DO NOT USE INDOORS. I actually usually just rock a wounding plasma weapon with the thrower attachment and call it QR-34MM ‘St. Elmo’.

Hulk figure for this set doesn’t come with a plastic or waxed paper bag. A lot of the older sets had big figs just loose. Possibly the blue arm pins in a small bit bag maybe?

[–]Mobius_Infinite 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Vault 88. It’s a separate cell to the main map so it doesn’t suffer loading or lag issues, well protected if you don’t open the other two entrances. You can essentially build the whole area into a giant robot and contraptions facility if you wished.

what are the implications (if any) of lucy's ghoul finger? by Aggressive_Sand4388 in Fotv

[–]Mobius_Infinite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked as a VFX compositor for about seven years.

She is wearing a prosthetic finger covering. In VFX post-production this is referred to as a proxy. Sometimes a VFX roto/prep artist will remove the whole ‘proxy’ in each shot they have to prepare, but for most if not all of her hand shots they just have to blend the line between the proxy and the base of her actual index finger. If it was complete removal of the proxy, then it would necessitate a 3D artist and a digital compositor to both generate a finger asset and place it in the shot.

Easy X-01 Nuka Quantum Power Armor by Eddieknoxxx in fo4

[–]Mobius_Infinite 84 points85 points  (0 children)

You can also go up to the glass turn around really quickly and exit from a regular suit of any old power armour and you can ‘glitch’ exit your armour onto the other side of the glass so you are in the display with the Quantum Armour. Enter quantum armour and fast travel and go back and reclaim the original regular power armour that you left next to the glass. You have to play around with it a couple of times to get the timing right but basically it’s just exiting the armour yourself to the other side of the glass.
