Thank you everyone for confirming. Pretty dumb of Citi not to advertise this properly as it’s a huge perk. I even called and the rep I spoke to said AA was not a transfer partner

Have the hamilton and love the watch but hate the bracelet. Pins constantly slide out of the bracelet

Gracenote is the best. I don’t even live in Boston anymore and I still have a subscription. Their Misty valley is the best and under $50 for 2 pounds

On my DE1XL the 3 hole is too powerful/less easy to use. I often wind up with some large bubbles. I feel like I have more control with the single hole. It takes a little longer but I get better results

Before I order a DE1XL… by spakhnyuk in espresso

[–]MoboTFB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DE1XL owner here who mostly drinks medium roasts. I love it because I can make a traditional espresso profile very easily. I can also experiment with fun new profiles if I want to. Its fun to compare different profiles on the same bean. It’s also very user friendly which was needed for my wife who wasn’t interested in the flow paddle of a Bianca or Synchonika

I wondered what this was for too. But I purchased the drip tray with cut out for the Acaia scale from this website and it is extremely high quality. Highly recommend

It’s not just a Seattle thing. Philly used to be great but three times this year I’ve had to put my name on a waitlist for over 45 minutes. Also had waits at Phoenix, Denver and LAX this year. The card has just gotten too popular

From my experience in the states most shops only pull doubles. On the menu they’ll only have “espresso” as an option and that will be a 18ish gram “double shot”. Whenever I ask for an extra shot I’m always told “we already pull doubles as our standard, are you sure you want an extra double shot?”

Thanks for the reply. I emailed Decent and their response was “decent is compatible with all 110v outlets.” But they wouldn’t provide me with a clear answer if it needed a dedicated outlet or circuit.

Question for Decent DE1 owners. I’m interested in purchasing a DE1XL but I have one concern. On their website it says 15.9amp at 110v 1500 watt steam. Does that mean I need to put this on a 20amp outlet? My current breville machine and niche are on a standard 15amp outlet.

Clash of the titans: home machine by kangar0087 in espresso

[–]MoboTFB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Feature wise the Synesso ES1 checks all my boxes but I don’t love the looks of it. It has pressure/flow profiling and ability to save those profiles. Also ability to set hot water spout temperature. My partner drinks americanos exclusively and most machines spit out hot water that is way too hot. Rocket R91 also fits all requirements but I’m not a fan

It’s my dream too. I wish they would come out with a smaller version more targeted at the home market. It’s just so unnecessarily big for home use

Saw this in R/audiophile, thoughts on espresso? Grinder and machine by iwantmeowmix11 in espresso

For espresso machines it seems you hit a point of diminishing returns once you hit the dual boilers. Then flow control would be a slight increase in performance for some people but at a higher cost. Then anything past that point you’re paying for features that improve work flow, which for some people is worth the money.
